Hey I here there is already the mambo 80 beta testers sent. I dont have the cash right now in another mouth, I guess. So how long do you think the Mambo could take? It is eather waithing for the M80 or buying the U force in a month.
P.S. Could the testers maybe say something about the M80? It would be great if someone has the M80 and the U force, and could say which is better! Even if you cant say anything, just say B or W with M80 (better) (worst).
Thanx for any help!

I can say that the beta units have not shipped out to testers being one of the testers.

Are you aloud to say things about them when you do get them? Or are you under a "gag order" from CC? And how in the world do you become a tester anyways?

Some things.........I'm a vendor and motor distributor whose tested a lot of systems.....all about the credentials (LOL)!

No fair!:p Have fun with it at least. And starluck will be carrying this controller and/or motor combo when it comes out correct? I've noticed that you guys sell the brushless motors the cheapest, so I'd probably prefer ordering from you guys once I get the dinero...:D

I am a Castle dealer and stock the Mamba 1/18 systems. I will definitely have the 1/10 stuff as I've been pushing them for this for a long time now.

Thanx, but I understand that. Can you speak once you get the CC? Do you have any idea of the price, just a ball park price.
Thanx for the help!

Hi Guys,
Part of the beta process in NOT being allowed to talk about it.
Beta units have not been sent yet, just FYI - but I'm not saying anything further about where we are in the timeline at all, or what estimated or proposed pricing will be either.
Sorry to be a scrooge guys.... :-(

LOL^
So looks like we got CC on the boards here! WOO! This is awesome.
Shawn- Are you aloud to release anything along the lines of specs of the 1/10 mamba motor at this time? And welcome to RCZ. Enjoy your stay, just don't expect mints on the pillows...:D

I'm looking at brushless systems and quite frankly I'm so confuzzed. The novaks are simple, plug in and go. But you guys (other posts I've read) are talking about mixing and matching motors and ESC's. I'm not a racer (yet) but I like to go fast. Unfortunately, I also like longer run times. So I don't know what to do. I haven't been into electric onroad in about 5 years and I don't know what's going on anymore :p lol

With all the choices, it can be a bit overwhelming. The Novak is a sensored setup, which basically means you have to use their controller with their motor. The sensorless designs of other manufacturers allow you to use practically any motor with any controller. Rarely will you find two that will not work together, but you still have to pick the right ones for the task at hand.

ok Makes sense. So I am mostly just a parkinglot "basher" at the moment but I'd be looking at racing once I get some of my driving skills honed ;) I can't afford uber equipment either so what's an "entry level" brushless setup or does such a thing even exist? and what kind of runtimes can be expected from a brushless system? Someone told me 8 minutes on a Novak system (not sure which one). and I guess batteries will make a big difference too. What about these new Sanyo 3600's? what's the price on them? Or the Fusion batteries, are they good?

It's best to contact a reputable vendor with the information on your vehicle(s) and goals, and they can set you up with something to meet your goals. The Novak is a decent setup......a little too tame for some. There are faster systems for a few more bucks.

alrighty. Maybe I'll just stick with brushed for now. It's simpler and less $.

Electric Thunder -
No, no releaseable specs on anything yet. (again :-(....) I've been lurking here for over a year gathering info on market needs/wants and such, and have only recently had time to post and help out where I can.

Well I was gonna just buy a novak system but I'll wait and see. I know I definately want something sensored (I think) cuz cogging (is that what it's called when the motor "seizes"?) looks like a real annoyance.

I'm sure the guys at CC will fix that. I believe starlck said that they tested one of their controllers with every brand motor they could get to eliminate cogging and other glitches.
ElectricThunder
09-18-2004, 01:12 PM
Yeah, and sensorless cogging looks like it's being eliminated in a lot of the newer systems, especially the schulze ESCs. I'm sure the CC ESC will have no cogging too, and be affordable!:D
BC- I got the novak system cause I couldn't wait..:D It's a good system, pretty powerful actually. If you want more power you can wait for the "pro" system, or the CC. I'd say go for CC (i'm saving up right now as we speak!) :D :D :D

I'll be saving my pennies right after we move... haven't heard anything about the "pro" version of novaks system, got any info links on it?

They're not releasing any info until it's done and ready for sale.

CharlieS said something bout a pro system, and that's it. No info can be coaxed outta him, so we all gotta wait...:( :D I've heard it should be comparable to a low turn brushed motor though, I could be wrong though.
