just got all my stuff unpacked and got to show my dad my hot shot sprint 3.5
for the first time....

we were limited on supplies and i didn't have enough tape to hold down the radio hatch. but i figured i wouldn't flip this time.... (bad mistake)

so i was going full speed on a flat lake then all of a sudden a gust of wind comes and it flipped in a heartbeat.

and so you can imagine what happend to my radio gear...

well thats my first rc boating experience in FL......lol

does anyone know of any rc boating clubs in the fort myers area?

We are on the east coast 15 miles north of miami, so we only got 35 mph gusts and a little rain. Across the state on the west coast did get hammered with 145 mph winds today though. We lucked out, but thanks for asking.
We did ride out hurricane Andrew a few years back. 160 mph winds and it layed down forest flat like a book of matches as far as you could see. Looked like a bomb went off  Every roof as far as you could see out from the highway was gone in some of the neighborhoods around here across a 100 mile north to south swath. I hope the people over there buckle down tight, those storms are scary. Later

btw, here are some race pics from our club-

Hydroracer,If you surrived Andrew you can imagine what we are going through. I live in Polk county and the East and South side of our county is devastated.

Looks like you still have power, that's good. The clean up sucks

Well atleast they got power! When I was in Andrew back in '92 we didn't have power for 3 weeks  . And the Clean Up was the best part * YEA RIGHT * . Atleast you're ok, we probably haven't heard from Scropien cause his power's out.

Hey Scorp, I also had a run-in with some bad luck while I was running my mono on vacation. We went up to a cottage & I brought 'Just one boat!' (the wife) & on the first run I had everything out on the dock. I did the usual checks & pre-float stuff & all was good. I launched the boat & it died about 5 feet out so I set my radio on the dock & waded out to grab the boat. I put the boat back on the starting stand & the outboard started glitching side-side real bad like my transmitter antenna was down. So, I looked at the dock to grab the radio - no radio. Hmmm, there it was at the bottom of 2 feet of water. I took it apart & dried it out real good, it looked like it was going to work - all the lights came on - but it was fried. I had to go get another radio. I was bummed. If I were home, I could have just grabbed another radio & swapped crystals or something. But instead I had to buy another Futaba cheapy.
