I have a Schulze 18.97 KWF I plan to use in my Kyosho Twin Force, but I havent decided on which motor I am going to use. I dont want to push the limits of my ESC so I can keep it cool and have it last along time.
I have been told that a Nemesis 540 10L would work great in my truck at 14.4v, but I want to be sure it would be safe to use this motor with my ESC. I dont want to fry my new ESC.
The motor is a 61 max amp motor which is well under my controllers 97 cont. amps. The motor is a 2458 rpm/v and at 14.4v I am pretty sure I wouldn't push it over its max rpm limit. What else would I need to look at to make sure this motor will work safetly with my controller?
Any one have any other motor suggestions that would be safe to use with my controller at 14.4v?

I've ran that motor on 12 cells with a Hacker Master Comp that is rated for less. I could gear up to 36 mph on 12 cells. If I was only going to run 12 cells, I would probably go with the 9L for a little more speed. There is a video on ultimaterc of one of my customers running a 10L in his Twin Force. I have even ran a 12 and 15 turn short can. They definitely wouldn't overstress the controller. The 12S seemed pretty quick on 12 cells, but I didn't get a full run in. I will run it again once the U-Force controllers come in.

The 18.97 means that can handle 97 Amp continius with a 2000mAh pack. (Ok new packs can reach 3600mAh , but ...)
Honestly very few cells can handle something around 100 Amp in a continius mode (only few GP cells can do this, but this is the best way to trash in few cicles expensice batteris).
As well in the 100Amp continius mode most of the connectors will melt down !
So your 18.97 should be always safe ... in the worst case (this measn having the best possible battey pack) then the termal limitation will stop the ESC before cook it ...
I would chouse a powerfull motor without questioning about the ESC capacity (since it is a almost No-Limit ESC).

PS: With a good efficiency motor you can have around 14V x 50 Amp x 0.85% = 600 Watt .. almost one HP ... that should be more then enought for have fun !

The Lehner XL2800 or 3100 would be a great choice. You can find them for as low as $139.00US.

.......or maybe a little cheaper. A little high for me though. I'm working on a sub $350 combo. That should pull in some of the crowd still waiting on the HV Maxx.

Were can I find them for $139? What about the XL3600? Are the Lehner XL shorter then the Nemesis 10L?
Around $350 would be a great for a brushless combo Starluck!
