What batteries would you reccomend for the Novak 5800? I am looking for cheap but reliable batteries. The GP3300s seem like they might be to much for what I need and they are costly. Any ideas?

Epic 3000mAh batteries work great for my novak. They take a charge or two to wake up, but after that, they're decent for 19 bucks.:D

I'll recommend GP3300's, even if they may be costly for you. They don't have to be though. You can get matched GP3300 packs for as little as $40 or so (kinda steep? maybe). Unmatched costs less of course. In any case, they are excellent cells and I've had awesome run time and power with them and my novak. Consider them for the future if you don't get any now.

You would be better off spending the money on GP3300s. They will be a lot more reliable than any 3000 pack. They run cooler, longer, and don't loose performance after a lot of charges like other batteries do. Also you can get 3300s for 35 bux and some nice sidexside assembled matched packs for 50 dollars. I have been running unmatched 3300s with my 5800 system for about a year now with no performance loss or problems.
