I have a 34"MRP fiberglass hull double wing Bud with a 7.5 K&B Inboard that I want to rip out and replace with the Pro Boat Bud .15 from my shelf queen. My question is will this work as the double is about 6" longer and I'm looking for something easy to start and run. Not real worried about speed as it's too fast now and I'm too old and slow. Looking for something that would run 25-35 as that's fast enough for me. Weight is about the same on the boats

If the weight is close, it should be just a matter of rebuilding the MRP engine mountings to take the smaller engine. Something else you should think about is with the smaller engine, you won't need to carry as much fuel. This tells me the boat should be lighter when ready to go, with less fuel and a possibly lighter engine. You may be looking at 35-40 instead.

I am thinking that a nice sport level .21 would be better. Going from a 7.5 (.45)to a 2.3 (.15) is going to be durastic. Consider the prop sizes: 35mm - maybe 40mm (and that is for a pretty free hull and a HO .15)on a .15 to the 45mm+ for the 7.5. 34" is about the size of the sport 20 boats in my club. A cheep .21 like an OS would be an easy swap, and prolly more what the hull was designed to handel in the first place.
