receiver distance?

hey, i have a problem with my kyosho rb ultima buggy. The electronics on it just stop working when im around 10 or 15ft away from the receiver? I'm not sure if i need to buy a new radio, because the one i have now started smoking a while back when i put new batteries in it??? should i replace the radio or is there anything else i can do? thanks. :mad:

Started smoking? Before buying a new radio, see if you can use another one to see if you get the same results. Not to demean you in any way but...common sense test would say to replace the radio.

Also, how old is the radio? Is the smoking caused from user error (putting batts in backwards)? If it's not your fault, you can call the manufacturer to see what they can do for you, just to keep it easier on the wallet.

Thanks, the radio is like 2 or 3 years old. No, i dont think it was my fault because i made sure the batteries were in the correct way. I think i will use another radio to see what happens before i buy a new one. thanks
