purchased a new airtronices mx3s radio
but i have a digital hitec servo w/ j connector that doesnt fit the airtronics receiver
can i just cut and solder a z connector from another airtronics servo
or are there j to z adapters to buy

Yes, but make sure that the positive(+),negative(-), and signal wire are in the correct locations.

If it has the little tab on the side of the J plug and that's the reason for the plug not fitting your receiver, just carefully cut/trim the tab off and you'll be good to go. Changing the entire plug will of course work, but that's potentially overcomplicating everything. :)

i did cut the tab off, but that didnt work for the servo, only the battery supply, the actual ends are a tiny bit different in size - weird
