Hi,
I purchased a new Hacker ESC for 220.00 at www.aircraft-world.com .
NEW! Hacker RC CAR RACE Controller for 6-8 Cells. Solid performance, great price.
Hacker Brushless Controller for RC Cars - RACE - 60A continuous, timing, frequency, current limit, brake - all selectable. Recommended for fast cars on C40 S motors.
(older sport ESC pictured - in stock models are the newest type with compact dimensions and all-new internal design)
Now I will be purchasing a motor. I see that the 540 8s nemesis is the best bet. Any suggestions.
But I do do go with this motor, will it work with my new esc?
Thanks,
Vova

I dont think it would be a good idea on a nitro quake.

We need to know the application to make a recommendation. If it is only a 60A controller, you would have to be very careful running an 8 turn 540. The C-40 is a "400" sized brushless, and pulls less current than comparable "540" cans.

60 amps.. isn't that what the old hackers were?
if so, I ran the older Sport controller with a B50 8s (same motor, more expensive) on 8 cells without any problems in my rustler and tc3.

So my question is. Should I get the 400- 8s or the 540-8s
Looking to run ~45- 50 mph.

You listed your battery as 2s3p - which is a total of 6 cells, 2 sets of 3 parallel cells in series for a total of 7.4 volts. Is the total capacity 2450ma or is that the capacity of each of the 3 parallel cells? If 2450ma is the total capacity neither of the motors you have listed are going to work with the battery. They will both easily pull more amps then is safe for the battery pack.
In a sedan I prefer a 400(380 to be specific) sized motor, in a truck I'm not sure. I don't think you'll hit 50MPH with either of the motors unless you' go with higher voltage or gear them for speed and not torque - which again will require very high amp rates.

These batteries are good for 70 amps. It is a ~5000mah pack.

I ran 2s3p lipos, hacker controller, and one of starlucks 400 sized cans ( I think it was a 9 turn?) and it was in a T3. Ran excellent, motor wasnt hot after 20 minute main, and it was faster than novaks. Very good set up.

Bomb proof and everyone else, thanks for your help.
I went ahead and ordered a 540 8s.
I will let everyone know how it works out this weekend.
Thanks,
Vova

Starluck,
I didn't notice you were local. That awesome!
I just went to race for my first time last weekend at sugarbowl. I raced with a 1 yr old stock motor and very old brushes. I got 6th place A main
And 1st place b-main. This was in novice, but I was racing against 1/8th Gas buggies.
