Hello, i have a U-FORCE 75 and a Kontronic Twist 47 in my xxx-bk-2 and i run with 6 cells. My project is to make 8 cells packs to have more power.
Is the runtime will stay the same with 8 cells cells or the runtime will go down???
Thank you.

It will go down.
You will for sure have more power with 8 cells, 30 % in theory, but your system will also have the potential to draw more amps. If you just stay with the same gear ratio you have now you will draw more amps and therefore get a shorter runtime.
But on the other hand, if you gear your car to the same top speed as you had with 6 cells, you will most likely get longer runtimes. The benefits here would be ALOT more acceleration and a little less stress on the esc and batteries.
To get extreme performance from 6 cells you need to draw very high currents from them, and that will get them very hot and shorten there life. Itīs so much easier and better for the batteries to raise the voltage a little bit and draw a little less amps from them instead.
And also if you draw high amps from 6 cells they canīt keep the voltage up that well.
I have a good suggestion for you; wait until tomorrow before you buy a 8 cell pack. I will try out GP:s new 4/5 2200mAh sub-c cells tomorrow in 8 and 10 cell configuration. If my predictions are right they will be absolutely perfect for high power 2wd cars.
They were the HOT cell in the World Championship in F5B in England earlier in august. They have an 1100 gram battery limit for the planes so the people, who got the hands on the 2200 cells in time, were the guys to beat. They used 24 of them instead of 17 standard 3300 GP:s for supreme power.

Good, i will disassemble a pack and make me 3 pack of 8 cells and go down some teeth on the pinion to have same top speed. My main objectif is not having more speed but stronger acceleration. Now i must find the good way to put 8 cells on the bk-2 frame.
I canīt see a really good way to fit 8 regular sub-c cell on a car like that. That is why I think that 8 of the new GP 2200:s soldered inline, or as a stick pack if you like, will be the optimum choise for the power you want.
With the use of 8 GP 2200:s you will be tough to beat, no question about that.
But try out the differens in power that your 8 cell sub-c will give you and see how you like that, I know you will be gladly surprised with the huge increase in power it generates. Then just think of what 150 grams less will do to your car ;) cause that is what the smaller GP 2200:s will trim off :) !
The cells give the airplane guys well over 100 amps in their planes without too much trouble, so they will max out what the U-Force can handle without stressing it as much as the GP3300.

Then o.k. NIC, I am patiently waiting for that review report. ;)

Me as well...I was planning on trying to get ahold of an 8 cell pack of these sometime soon to stick in my B4 to replace the FAUP pack I lost. I can't wait to hear how they work in a speedrun setup. :::Pssst::: NIC...you know of anywhere I can get my hands on an 8 cell inline soldered stick pack of these cells? I'm real anxious now to get myself a pack after all I've heard about this cell...seems like a definate FAUP-killer for the ultimate speed-pack cell. :D :p
05h3t5ky, Iīm just so lucky that I have found such a good dealer for anything that has to do with electric power. Heīs a "electrics only" plane dealer. He has all the newest esc:s, batteries, chargers and motors, all types of connectors, cables, shrinkwrap.....you name it. He also matches and builds your packs for you in any configuration you like with any number of cells for top performance. All this with day-to-day shipping to the door and at a REALLY low price !
Lots of people who competed at the WC in York England (including my dealer) now sell of their 2200 cells wich they used in their F5B planes because it will be a change in the rules until next year.
My advise is to check with different airplane dealers to see if they have any left. I know that the U.S had a hard time to get their hands on the GP 2200 while most of the european teams already had them in time for the WC.
I will test my cells out today if I have the time, I hadnīt time yesterday. I got 10 matched cells in a stickpack of 8 cells and 2 loose cells to try out. If the runtime and power isnīt enough with 8 I will solder on the two loose cells for a 10 cells pack.
They look a bit "low budget like" due to the light green shrink-wrap but I know that they are a wolf in sheep clothing :) !

I post my results in the "GP 4/5 2200 cells" tread.

where can you get the cells?
