Hi,
My friend just picked up an Aeromarine Apache 55 with a G26 and reached over from the wrong side and attempted to pull start it while I was trying to adjust the choke and before I could tell him not to pull using such a severe angle... Poof the pull start broke. Anyway does anyone know if the plastic piece that comes in contact with the rotor I think its called a pully. I looks it screws to the recoil assembly and then grabs the rotor. I cant exactly tell by looking at the parts diagram at: http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo/Files/zenoahengines-manual.pdf

And what fuel ratio does everyone use? I was told 7-8 ozs per gallon.

Thanks in advance

I think the part is called a rachet plate. For breakin use 7 to 8 ozs of oil with castor in it. After breaking go to full synthetic oil and use the same amount of oil. I break my engine in with 7ozs of Quicksilver oil and then switch to Klotz.

The Key to not destroying the starter on the boat is to pull it tight (take the slack out) and then yank on it. You can also take small metal pins or nails and stick them right where the teeth are on the racket plate so that way the plactic teeth can't wear out.
