My nitro car requires 4 AA batteries, and my remote requires 8 AA batteries.
I'm look for suggestions on batteries and a charger.. They must be reasonably priced too; thanks for your help.

Get the energizer rechargable nimh's. I've got them in EVERYTHING I own that takes batteries. You won't be disappointed.

Radio shack sells chargers that can charge individual AA cells. About $35 for a charger that can do up to 8 cells at once.

Rechargable cells can be found in a lot of capacity ratings from 700mah to 2200 mah. Price will vary as well, with a few available at department stores, office supply, home centers and hobby stores. I've purchased the GE rechargable Nicad with charger, 700 Nicad available at hobby stores and recently some 1800 NiMh (Monster Power) with charger at Best Buy and some 2200 GP through a online hobby site. A regular battery charge can be used if amperage rate can be set to .05 to 1.0 amp and the detect setting can be set to .01mv it can safely charge most cells including N50, or 180 size cells.

Acer racing has a good deal on 2100 MAh AA NIMH. I bought them and love them so far. I also bought a new 8 cell charger for $15 from Frys so this is the cheapest route I have see for Rechargables with great capacity.

Hope this helps!
