My friends and I are into stock racing, but one of my friends just bought a P2k2 Pro, and I can't find a brushed stock motor which is faster.
So, my question... I already have a Novak SS5800 System, so I was looking at the SS4300. If I took the sticker off nobody would notice that I had a brushless motor, so I just need to know how this motor compares in performance to the P2k2 Pro. Novak say that it compares to a stock 27T, but the specs say that it's faster.
Thanks for your help

3 wires coming out of the end of the motor would hint that it's brushless...;) I personally have no experience with the 4300, but I believe that novak over rates their motors a bit, so the specs aren't always everything. It's probably very close to a 27 turn stocker with maybe a bit more power and torque.

depeding on the track a p2k2 or a monster stock will be faster. on an open track a monster will be better and at a tecnical track a p2k2 would be better. also a normal stock motor should be less then a BL stock motor, you do have a brushed esc right? also there is a limiting mode on your ESC

In my experience the 4300 is much faster than what Novak rates it for.

If this motor does go faster than a 27T stock, how close would it be if I selected the 'Sportsman' program on the Novak Super Sport ESC?

This motor has lots of torque and goes faster than many <17T motors, because of the gearing it can have. It hits over 40mph in my freind's TC3 with low gearing.

If you have the 5800 then just turn the esc to setting 5 or 6. I am running mine in a B4 with a 18/81 gearing and down the straights I am at the same speed as a stock motor. I see no need to buy the 4300. The esc will limit the 5800 to 24000 RPM. If you gear it right the only thing you may get is a bit more torque. At the track I am at they will let you run them in stock if you are not in the unlimited modes. I have found though that someone who is great at tuning can get their stock a little quicker. But it all still ends up in the driving.

Thanks nicholcgn, you may have saved me from buying another $80 motor. And thankyou to everyone else for helping me cheat lol!

RCCA recently did an article comparing the SS4300 to a brushed stock motor. Check it out.

Yah, Read that article. It says you won't notice much if any difference.

Top end there isn't much difference but there's a huge difference in the bottom end. The 4300 has way more torque than a good stock, more like a 19 turn. Bottom line is you still gotta drive it. :)
