The other day I went to start my Hammer and the engine would turn over one maybe two times. Some pulls it would not turn over at all. The string will come out and go back in but the engine will not turn over. Any advise? Also my hammer runs really hot. I cannot touch the head after a run but the needle is out 2.25 turns. Sometimes gas or water, I cannot tell, comes out of the pipe. Is this normal? Thanks guys!
My hammer will do the same thing with the recoil strater. I was told that you could take it off and tighten the spring inside a little bit. Once the engine starts it will work every time after that. I learned just to live with it. For the head I would see if one of your water lines are kinked or if it is cloged. Try blowing through the water exit hole and see if you can feel air at the intake. For the gas it is probably too rich and isn't burning all the fuel. If it is that hot something is wronge.

You probably have a problem with the one-way bearing. This is really common with the car and truck crowd.
If you can't touch the head, richen the carb a little more. Preset factory setting are only a suggestion, not iron-clad.
Oil coming out of the pipe is normal, water spells trouble in the head. You should see a stream of water coming out of your water outlet when the boat is up and running. The head doesn't need a lot of water to keep it cool. If it drips out, then you have a blockage somewhere.

I think I do have a problem with the one way bearing. I do have alot of water coming out of the side, maybe i am too lean. I am going to call aquacraft and see If I can get another one. I have run the boat maybe 6 times. thanks guys!

You may be able to fix it yourself. Remove the recoil then there probably is a hex shaped part the fits in the starter. Pull that out and spray some WD-40, nitro cleaner, carb or brake cleaner in there. It could be that the shaft isn't getting a grip on the bearing with oil or dirt in there making it slip.
Listen to what ron said. I pulled my starter off tonight because I got very frustrated. I sprayed the recoil insides with WD-40 and it works great. The starter works so good I can hardly pull it. Thanks Ron.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate everyones advise. I cleaned out the one way bearings with alcohol and It worked great. i guess the bearings were slipping on grease. Thanks again and you guys really do know boats! :)
