Well this is interesting. I originally wanted to start this new thread for asking about Tekin and how they did go out of business. Then I though about searching the web, and found out that they are actually in for a comeback! Now that's good news.

Oh by the way, my original question is still there. Why did they pull back from the R/C scene?

They started up a few months ago.

There are a few rumors about why they closed, I dont know which one is true.

tekin was in the game and the on road racing started to catch on, they made some of the best esc you could buy. I had bought novaks before, but always had them fry in off road racing. I was running them in the motor range without overgearing, but for whatever reason they just didn't seem to hold up. Then I started to try tekins, and they were great. They had all kinds of esc's to suit your needs. They had one series the 420. It could handle up to 20 cells. Then they had a couple of racing series to suit racers budgets. I had most of the them and they never gave me a problem. I think the only race esc I didn't get from them was the G10 cause I liked the G9 and it's ultra high frequency for the time of 16000hz. I still use a G12C3 in my micro RS4 and it runs great. One of the best features that they had was that when you applied brakes, it would store energy being generated by the motor and give you a little more boost and run time. I'm glad they're back. Old school race gear for the old school racer. lol

I had a 410 and a g10. they were great. I was more interested in why they went bankrupt or whatever happened. I too am glad they are making a return. I hope they have been doing their homework though cause novak has the synthesize thing and the brushless thing going for them.

I also hope they hit the ground running, I had the G9, G20, G12, G12c, and still have a G12C3. Also had the B112c charger too. They have along way to go to catch up. Only people who have been around for 7 years or so might remember them. We'll see what they have up their sleave.

The reasons Tekin closed is all hear say, unless you worked there only then is the true reason known - everything was hear say so I'd not post anything as to the reasons.
I began using Tekin products with their 870 charger up to the 112A and after using Novak esc from the T4 to 410 hyperfet I tried a 410G, their 411G3, 412G3 and G9 sometimes having 3 models of each for the different vehicles I raced.
They are back with two products being produced G10 ESC, 112A charger with plans to bring back some of the other products or making some new improved items. It they remain stable and things go as planned you can count me in.

I just resently got a TEKIN TSC 411 GZ GOLD FET 2 speed controll off ebay with an RC10L I bought, do any of you guys know any thing about this ESC? This is my first electric car, all of my other RCs are nitro, so any info you can give me will be great! Also does a ESC plug into the radio just like a servo?

Thanks!

It is old. lol. Yes it plugs in just like a servo into the #2 channel. If it still works though, use it. Use it til it fries. Maybe tekin will have repair options for their original stuff.

If you go to their site. Tekin is under new owner.

The 411G if that what you mean handles down to 10turn motors. If you can't find manuals on the Tekin site try Wild Hobbies. This site will not allow me to type the URL due to the url sounding like a xxx link. There was another link I had that listed older manuals but lost it.

The main reason the OLD Tekin stop doing business was due to poor business skills by the former owner. They did NOT go bankrupt and the new owner has hit the ground running and am looking forward to some more great Tekin products.
