The question is, which one? Warehouse hobbies looks like they make really nice boats, i've seen videos and read reviews and hear that these are great boats..

I was thinking the Super G, but I think i might want to go a bit higher up on their list, and look at some other stuff.

I was thinking maybe the Man O War or the Magnum 57...But if I cant afford those I might go with the Super G or Super Sport.

Who here has had one of these, and which do you recommend?

Are they worth it?

I've got my eye on a SS myself.

Yeah, the SS is probably what i'll get...but with the magnum 57...Is bigger better, or will that just slow it down compared to the SS?

A lot of folks probably expected me to jump on this thread........ <rolleyes>.

I've owned two Super G's. Only thing different was the color.

Ran one completely box stock & got 40 mph & change. This is with the Aircooled 230

My current setup is changed on with a Cooper Quiet Pipe. Hate the sound of these things & the Cooper makes it easier on the ears. Got a best speed out of it to 44.4 mph a few weeks ago.

I like the Sport & Super Gs with a passion. However, if I had it to do all over again, do not buy the ready to run version new. You can get a good deal on one used and save almost half of the price. OR I'd build it myself. Thats the fun part & if you have trouble, there's enough guys with experience here to help out.

As far as the larger boats, talk to FlyerCAN, ShannonSC & a few other guys that frequent here run the Magnum & Manta Ray. I think they are sold also.

Hmm, where would I get a good, trustable deal on one used? Also, if I can tune and maintain a nitro engine, are the gas engines just as easy?

Those look like great boats, I actually might be able to buy around early november, my b-day, and I might sell some stuff I have like my Losi XXX-NT or my T-maxx for money........

So if you got about 40-44 with the Super G, the SS would be a bit faster or around the same speed without that pipe?

The SS is the same boat just a different deck. The most noiticeable difference is the holes in the deck on the G'.

Speeds shouldn't be different.

Here's the catch... but a good one. They are fun to drive in calm water all the way up to full speed. A little wind, chop & they become a lot more FUN...

The boat is about maxed out once it gets into the high 40's. The bow has a flare that the wind helps to lift it out of the water at speed. You've got to balance that with the tabs to keep the nose down a hair... too much and you loose speed, too little and it flys like a tunnel boat. I know! But in no ways am complaining.

To sum up my experience with this boat.... I'd say buy one.

But FTR, search a used one on anything you do.

The SS has the G260 engine and dual rudders, thats the only thing I found different besides the deck as you mentioned.

We got plenty of choppy water here, it's windy a lot and my local lake usually is full of waves because of that. We also have a real boat (http://www.ibk-boats.de/Unsere_Neuboote/REGAL-Yachten/2100_LSR.jpg, not my boat, but the same model and year, great boat) that we take up to Sebago Lake in maine. Nice big open water areas in the middle of the lake, and there's some really large coves with heavily wooded areas and islands blocking winds..perfectly flat there, if I ever need calm waters up there.

I'm just hoping that i'll be able to run at my local lake, strictly no gasoline boats at all on the lake, not sure if it's because of the noise or anything, but I'll look around to see if i can run there. (The lake is very small anyways and i couldnt see anyone speeding across it anyways if they were allowed. Perfect for these boats though) :Edit: This is that local lake I was talking about, These arent really great water shots as I just did a quick google search on this lake to get pics, but thats basically it, where I run my Nitro Hammer, and hopefully my Super G/SS :D http://www.leslie-turek.com/LakeQ/

Is it possible to drive these alongside a real boat? Seems like a fun idea, cruise along at 25-30mph with a Super G speeding alongside the big boat :)

I'm off to bed, tomorrow i'm gonna look around for used boats online, but with the gas engines...How much fuel can be run through them before they need to be replaced/rebuilt? I guess this would be a big factor in finding a good used one, how well the engine is taken care of and how much gas went through it.

There's a freshwater lake community close to here that doesn't allow gas engines on it either. It might be partly because of the noise, but mainly at this community the water is so clean. Gas burners would only pollute the clean water. The water is so clean TVA has stocked it with little tiny jellyfish, between the size of a nickle and a quarter. They won't sting and they just look like little bubbles floating around unless you look closer.

So to answer your question, it could either be the noise, the pollution, or both.

Silly question:

Have you checked the ads here? There is a fine Aeromarine Challenger for sale READY TO RUN for $625 + shipping !!!! Thats a good deal if there ever was! If I had not just bought two boats this week Ditchy and I would be talking over this one.

IMHO, email him and make an offer on that rig. I'm not going to say how much, because thats not my business, but its a sweet deal and there are several others like that around.

There was a guy on Jims R/c Boat Dock http://p086.ezboard.com/fjimsrcboatdockfrm3 that had a Sport for sale
$400 SHIPPED ! READY TO RUN....

My main point is do not get stuck on one boat. If you do, then you will most likely lose a good deal on something even faster & better handling.

These engines will run forever as long as you take care of them. Run good oil at a good mixture (7 to 1) & don't over heat them too bad.

Take care alright & have fun with your hunt.

The wierd thing is, the water in the lake here is really bad, so polluting it wouldnt do much, heh.

And damn, $400 shipped for that boat? If i saw it sooner, i would have bought it right away...I'll keep my eye out and consider that challenger.

It still is a while before i can actually buy one, but I am selling a Losi XXX-NT with OS CVRX .12 engine and making about $300 off of it, so i'll have some money before november, when i plan on getting one.

Will i ever look at my Nitro Hammer again after i get one of these things ? I have two of them, both only a few weeks old, loving them so far, but i'm thinking it will change when i have a big gas boat here :)

I'm most likely gonna hold off till early november but if there is anything surprisingly good i might consider.

Hey fs454...
Absolutely you can run along side your boat. I have the wife drive the full size and I jump the wakes with the rc. I'm sure you know this but gotta say it... Safety is key I only run by my own boat which gets hard 'cause alot of times jet skiers like to get right up on me and if I catch a a wake or wavw right I can get my boat a good couple of feet in the air. anyway, it's pretty much fun try it you'll like it. :D :D

Here's a great deal !

All it needs is a radio & you've got one laying around right?

Don't sweat the engine. Get this fine boat & run it for a few months. Then sell the engine & use the money towards a 230PUM. That boat will run in the 50's with that setup!

Hmm, if I sell my Losi right now, get about $280, i can spend the extra $70 for that easily... What does it run stock?

Doubledog

Stock with a 230 and the right setup will see high 40's. Drop a 230 thats been modded and it'll FLY ! I've heard stories of them running high 50's with that engine.

Like it is now you'll run 30 ish with that Echo. But still, that will be enough to get you out and going. :)

Hey doubledog how are you doing. I am really liking the direction this super g is headed. it looks quite a bit different than when you owned it. ill try and get some pictures as soon as i can. By the way the zen 230 pum runs great only took about 10 pulls of the cord to start it up. it starts even easier now. i still need a walbro carb with a primer bulb its quite a handful to hold the engine and choke the carb while pulling the rope and holding the boat down. What are your thoughts on the Quad exhaust system offered by WHH. I know it wont be the best performing exhaust system but im going for scale appearance with this boat. My question with the exhaust is it looks rather home made with the hose clamps and what not, do you think it will hold up or should i not even bother with it. Also the noise of the exhaust will be inhanced by the open exhaust system. Do you think it will be obnoxiously loud and get annoying quickly. If you were building a boat based on scale appearance and not really careing about speed as long as it was not a turtle, would you run this exhaust. another option would be to use the tuned pipe and three aluminum tubes epoxied to the hull to make it appear that its got twin engines although it would become appearent pretty quickly that the three tips are decoration when running.

Can't wait to see it. I'm sure its been a learning process but a fun one none the less. Also, that engine considering the circumstances, I am very happy its working out also. It'll make it fly.

To be a little simple, you've got tons of room to run a 90* pipe out the back and down the side of the radio box. The exhaust would be just above the water line. To add the apprearence of twin exhausts, put another hole on the other side and there you go.

Quad exhausts? I've only seen one and it was on a Super G w/ Homie & Z drive. Speeds were not impressive but it did sound REAL good.

Keep me posted alright. Peace.

The sound shouldn't be too loud - I have a Manta w/ EZ-25 and unmuffled tuned pipe, and it's not too loud (except for when you're within 10 feet of it at wot, but how often does that happen?). FS454- I noticed that boat was sold - did you get it? If not, I can't say anything bad about enforcers.

I guess I have to say something on this, sooner or later. I own one of the older Enforcer Gators. It came with the Homelite 30CC aircooled engine, stock as it comes off the weedwacker except it has a clutch. I had it clocked at a tad over 38 mph just a few weeks ago, and since it seemed a bit rich it might have 40 mph hiding out somewhere in there. Since then, they've gone over to Zenoah engines which are somewhat stronger "out of the box" than my old Homelite mill. If they carry the same easy starting and dependable running characteristics, I don't know how you won't have a good time with these boats.
