Can it be done? I was thinking maybe on 12-14 cells. Anyone ever tried it?
I imagine it would go pretty fast, because its 4wd It wouldn't be easier to controll at high speeds but it would also be slower than if you did it with a car that was 2wd. You would probly need an MSC to handle the current. It might be too much for an ESC. Mabey not the new Phoenix 80 can handle 10-20 cells and 120 amp surges.

Instead of going for high amp, just get a lot of voltage on a "slower" motor. LiPo cells will be excellent. High voltage is a lot more efficient than high amperage for the same amoun tof wattage.
Yea i know i have done exeraments with voltage. I ran 15.6 volts through my 4-tech and my academy car witch i couldn't handle and burnt up half of my msc, so when i drive it goes from slow and passes over the spot were it burnt up and touches the speed cpntrol at full tilt. What blows my mind is it picks up after the burnt spot.

See a lot of people keep saying 2wd is better for speed. I do think it can be done with a 4wd. Because of the 4wd being easier to control, you can accelerate faster.
I have been using 2 touring cars for my speed runs. a Colt10 and a TC3. I really think any TC will be fine. Just have to reposition where most motors and electronics sit for better ballance because of all the cells that are needed.

Yep FN P90 submachine gun. I got the name since I have a TM P90 airsoft gun.
If you are going all out on a speed car, why not invest in LiPo's? They're a lot lighter and will be easier to balance on a TC.
Hey I have a Murai FN-p90 also. I rigged the battery from the p-90 on my car with a 7.2 thats how i got 15.6 with the 8.4 volt pack lol. Thats how I reconized the name.
I hear Lipo's that they are harder to maintain and stuff but are practical in life of the cell and are lighter. I have also seen them the same size as a AA and be 3.5 volts per cell. Get a batter pack of thoughs and you have some major voltage.
