 OK help please!!!!!
3 years ago, I lost my Ofna Ultra GT LX to a real car.. Preceeding this misfortune, I was getting a lot of erradic behavior from my stock RTR radio system, so I gutted my RC 10 and put the radio and electronics in the Ofna.. All was going well til  ZOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooom... ***??? Come back.... CRUNCH!.. OK put it away and stop RC-ing all together...
Skip forward to 2 weeks ago.. Ken gets bit by that damn RC bug again. :D . lets get the old cars running!! Ofna.. ooh yah, needs parts.. RC10.. needs engine, but itll suffice for a while. So, drive it.. man its slow.. Im fixin the Ofna... all in the meantime, purchased a shiny new Revo.. (not here yet)... Now the reason for this long, boring thread! IT STILL GLITCHES LIKE A MO-FO! Runs fine for about 5 mins or so, then out of the blue.. OFF SHE GOES! this is like when I am either 6 inches from the car, or 60 feet. Dont matter. Tried diffrent set of crystals, (whole new radio like I said) of course fresh batteries.. Can someone help me!?!

First off, dont run your rc's in the street...there are tennis courts, parking lots, or any other wide open area to use... now, check your car if there are any servo links touching anything metallic or carbon... you want to insulate those... also check for loose metal connections... any type of vibrating metal will amplify the glitch...

Also make sure your receiver pack is charged.

Cars do need routine maintenace or the problems just compound themselves leading to a run away car.
Didn't mention which RC10, for the old style aluminum it was best to mount receiver and antenna mount to shock tower away from other electronics, even the newer versions mount the receiver and antenna on one side of chassis away from other electronics and wires. Use two, even three prices of servo tape to insulate and protect receiver from vibrations. Inspect wires and connectors to ensure they aren't frayed or loose and corroded. My hunch is the motor is probably causing the extreme radio interference - if it has gone without cleaning, changing brushing, using the right capacitor (noise suppression) or if the motor equipped with surface mounted caps those had a tendency to go bad. Motor neglect can also cause the problems with interference you mentioned along the possiblity that a circuit in receiver may have been damaged if it were involved in a bad collision.

This is a Nitro vehicle I am talking about here, and I keep my cars CLEAN.. I enjoy working on them.. As for the problem.. I have insulated every possible linkage, re reoute the antenna, padded the crap out of the receiver/box.. nothing worked... So, I figured why not.. and added about 4" to the origional antenna... Guess what.. it worked.. Strange that 2 complete radio systems in the same vehicle could require a longer antenna lead... anyone ever heard about something like this?

I have similar problems with an electric Ultima RB. Now, the thing has been in the closet for a year. I really want to get it back out and rehab it, but I'm n00b, so no idea where to start. I need new tires/rims for sure 'cause the old ones I had been softening in a bag with simple green, I'm not sure I ever took them out after the last time I put them in the bag, plus whatever else you have to do to a buggy that has sat in the closet.

I need a mentor for R/C imbeciles, like a Big Brother program. I need an ESC with n00b-proof instructions.
