Hi,
I finally got my Micro-Bipe airborne using 8xGP120 Double Time cells. My little flier is with 102g a bit heavier than the original 83g by Don Srull mostly due to standard micro servos, more cells and, maybe, lack of building skills on my side.

Another nice job.... How do you like
the way it flies? Also, what flight
equipment are you using? Or is that
on the other web page? (haven't looked
yet...just wanted to let you know I appreciate seeing your model.)
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
after pulling the turbulator threads (added after the first, unsuccesful flight attempts, not shown in the pictures) off the wings I like the flight attitude very much, although I would like to be able to get airborne with the original 6-7 cells, but the Bipe got a bit too heavy.
I think that the Bipe works better without turbulators because they have been too thick. Considering the low Reynolds number I would expect the Bipe to gain lower drag from turbulators.
Yes, I use the equipment listed on my homepage with the exception of 8 (not 7) cells and a prop 6"x4.7" with wider blades than the one shown in the pictures, made of glass cloth and epoxy resin using an APC 9"x4.7" slow prop as positive mould.
It's nice to hear that somebody likes my model. Thanks!

Stew Meyers of the Maxecuters also built a Micobipe --see it at www.his.com/~tschmitt/index.html (http://www.his.com/~tschmitt/index.html)
Go to page six of the microrc pages.

Pat,
thanks for your note. However, I know Tom's site already. Many fine pictures of fine planes there.
As the micro RC guys seem to be mostly a bit more grey-haired than me, I consider myself at almost 40 years a youngster and am glad having hopefully still much time to learn :).
