View Full Version : Asking for prayers!

This morning at 5:30am our house caught on fire. Something in the garage started it. It took the fire dept. 15 minutes to get to out house  . Because of this the fire spread though out the entire house. Everything I have ever owned is gone. Not much in our house is savagable. All three of my rc cars are gone. Including a brand new REVO. :(
All three of our cars burnt to the ground including my fully restored Corvette (put a brand new engine in it two weeks ago! :( ). Investigators could not determine what caused the fire since it started in the garage.
The damage is so bad we will not be able to move back in. We were renting the house. We were planning on moving back to Houston in December. But, we are going to have to move right away now. I think the entire house is going to need to be rebuilt. So, I have to drop out of college and start again next semester. My dad already has a job in Houston, so he can start as soon as we move back.
We are staying with some good friends for now. Our neighbors are really unbeilvable! They offered us everything from food to letting us take their cars!
Everyone in my family is fine. We know for sure that one cat did not make it. The other three we do not know about since they were in the garage. Most likely they got out.
So if you guys could please pray for my family it would be greatly appreciated! :)
I will update everyone later. It is really hard to think when your life changes that quickly!
Any questions I would be happy to answer! :)
you know, it seems that alot of people are having bad luck today...being the 3 year "aniversary" of 9/11.
I almost had a car accident today when my grandma let me drive around the block, dumb idiot was doing 40 in a 25 mph zone.
then your house burning down....what next? Mt. st. Helens errupts? Hurricane Ivan hits Florida?
anyways, you and your family will be in my prayers tonight.

Sorry to hear about that man. You have my prayers. Remember God is doing this for a reason and that he is making you stronger. Even though it may not seem like that now, He knows exactly what is going on.
I hope your cats are ok. I'll have a word with the boss later and ask him to keep an eye out for you.Heavy duty stuff there. If i had dropped a new engine in my car then two weeks later...

MurcielagoR-GT that's awful, life can take some twists sometimes. Good that you are all safe. Best of luck, it will all work out, though it probably doesn't seem so right now.

MurcielagoR-GT - very very sorry to hear the news, i'll pray for ya! I know you're probably upset and sad now, considering everything you've lost, but just remember, YOU made it out alive, don't forget to thank the lord for that one. Some times people take things for granted, it dosen't seem to be like you are, but it might help to remember that you're fine and still alive to start over.

All three of our cars are insured. My dad and I went looking today at some cars. I found a real nice 98' BMW 740il for $15,000! My dad found a 01 Jaguar X-type and my mom found a 01' Mercedes ML500.
We went back to the house and cleaned up our stuff. A company is coming for the big stuff to clean up. We realized that everything can be replaced. Everything we lost is no big deal. All of our photo albums and home videos made it. :) Stuff like that we can not replace.
My two cats came home today. So we know the other is still alive.
My whole family is doing good; we are all thinking positive. I think my sister is shooken up the most. She is 11 ! We always look for the good in things. My dad was saying we are going to build a real workshop in our garage. All new power tools and home theater! :D
We will end up with nicer stuff then we had! My tv was too small anyway! :D
My GS Storm I think made it. I will be able to salvage some parts off the REVO. And there is literaly not even ash left from the t-maxx!
It's all good though! As the saying goes: Shi* happens! :D :D

The GS Storm was in my closet; it mainly got just smoke and heat damage. And the T-maxx was in my garage where the main fire was. We were actually able to dig out my drivers license inside my car! I have no idea how it did not melt. Since the rest of my car did!
I never realized that the smoke is just as bad as fire. The smoke is really what ruined everything.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers! :) :) :) :)

All of our photo albums and home videos made it. :) Stuff like that we can not replace. I've heard it's good to have stuff like that all in one place, like on a bookshelf or in a footlocker so you can grab it quick in a case like that... is that what happened?
That's usually the stuff that hurts the most (if it's destroyed). I've also heard it's good to have copies of everything like videos over at the grandparents' house or something... in case there's a fire when you're not home.

Glad you're ok, and that other than the sad loss of your cat, the family is safe. It's good to keep positive, and keep looking toward the future. You're fortunate to have loving family to make your road to recovery much easier. I sincerly wish you the best of luck.
