Ah...what can I say? I think I've hit yet another low on the quest for my custom Nitro Viper. It seems that when drilling holes for a tank mount I should have zigged where I zagged and ended up drilling a hole right through the bottom of my hull. :o YAY ME!!!
So...now I get to follow my own advise on how to patch an ABS hull and I'll now have to repaint the bottom of the hull...yet again.
So in conclusion kiddies...pay attention when yer using the drill. Bad things can and do happen to good people. ;)

You could always do one of those 3 Stooges things, drill another hole in the boat to let the water out! :D

that reminds me of the first time i installed an autobailer-backwards. Luckily, I had floatation foam and a waterproof radio box. When I noticed it was barely floating and couldn't get on plane, I brought it in, and it was 2/3 full of water. Shows ya how much I know...

Don't sweat it, no biggy. For a person with 1,600+ postings, sometimes I'm too embarassed to tell you guys some of the really stoopid (worse than stupid) things that I've done.

Ain't it the truth. Some of the stupid things I've done in 20+ years of boating, not counting building a couple of Dumas hydroplanes, would fill up at least a couple of pages on this site

Could be much worse. A dab of epoxy and you're all set. Who's going to see the bottom anywhow?
But I like the idea of drilling another hole to let the water out. Funny.

I don't know, about anyone else, but I think you need to build a scale hydroplane. They're fast, get attention and throw up HUGE ROOSTER TAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What more is there to need in life :D

Talking to Me?
Hydro?
If so, how did you know? I've had my eye on an Insane Gas Hydro & have been watching ebay for a cheap rigger.
My buddy at PSR (the guy who built the new ones) has a hydro coming out this winter. Problem... its going to be expensive!

Both you and Bufferoo. Who makes the Insane hull, as I'm not familiar with it. I was thinking Bufferoo needs a break, and what better way than to start another project? Something along the lines of a 1991 Miss Budweiser or a 1988 Miller High Life? Sound like something either of you would be interested in. Maybe a 1960's Bardahl roundnose for a change of pace? Sound interesting yet? I guess I didn't pick the name Hydro Junkie for nothing :D

Hydro Junkie... boat junkie, prop junkie, we all fit into that class. :D
Here's one of the Insane rigs. I have a feeling if I buy any hydro, its going to be big enough to work in.

Good looking boat, but where are the tails and wing? It's not finished without at least a pair of tails. One other thing, the link they give to Propworks doesn't work. Do you have a different address or phone number? If not, I'll PM the one I have to you. A boat big enough to work in. That's why my smallest rig is a 36" Sport 40. All my boats have lots of room, it's just making everything fit as close to the CG as possible that makes things tough. To me, there's nothing worse than a boat too small to work in. I guess that's one of the reasons I can't stand the Pro Boat Budweisers, THEY'RE TOO SMALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I was thinking Bufferoo needs a break, and what better way than to start another project?" EGAD man! I've got enough on my plate right now and you want me to try and convince my wife that I need yet another boat? SHOCKING! ;)
All in all it's really not "that" bad I guess. It's not like I pulled out the hole saw. It's only a 3/32" hole but it's still a hole in the hull. I'm not to worried about that. It seems that patching holes is part of the hobby anyway. It's more the fact that I just finished the paint and it was looking soooo sweet. Ah well...looks like I CAN find a way to add MORE paint to a boat. :D

Now Bufferoo, I need someone to have as many boats in the works as me :D I don't know of anyone else with nine hydros, one tug and three aircraft all either waiting to be built or started and not finished YET. Besides, if the wife is willing to buy........................................

Uh......Scott, if that's a Bud style 7 liter boat, why does it have an Elam Plus paint scheme and American Spirit U series number on the wing? U is for UNLIMITED, not 7 liter ;)

I had a feeling that was the case. You would think the people at Aeromarine would know better than that ;)
