Yesterday was my final out of the Military I am now a civilian again. I was the M-203 gunner (grenader) for my platoon. Below is a pic of the weapon I was issued by my unit. I already miss the Army... :(

My very heartfelt thanks to you & all of our military for your service worldwide. Not to get too cheesy.... but I'm just very grateful to have the freedoms I have.

Did I read that right? You miss the army? If it's any consolation, I went through almost a year of what amounted to withdrawl when I got out of the NAVY. Getting recivilianized is probably harder than going through Boot Camp and all the training we got going in, since there aren't any drill instructors to get those getting out "demilitarized. Just remember, unless you got an RE-4 reenlistment code, you can change your mind any time up to(if I remember right) 2 years after discharge. Otherwise, you need to Think NAVY and Be NAVY. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's VERY SIMPLE:
Never
Again
Volunteer
Yourself
Need I say more? :D

I can't. It was my goal to one day retire from the Army but getting rear ended by a postal worker killed that dream and cripled me for life. I now have to wear a TENS unit for the rest of my life, can't drive a stick shift anymore, and when I do drive my now (Automatic) I have to site on a cushion and stop every few minutes along the way to recline the seat to straighten out my back for a few minutes. It's all good though, life goes on.
Not to mention my wife just got a letter calling her BACK to active duty
(after being out for the past three years) to serve in Iraq. She already picked out the new Pathfinder she wants to buy with the money she'll be making over there.
I know she's going to be as safe as she can.

Yes My Retarded A$$ Signed Up
I loved every minute of it though and I volunteered for EVERY mission that came up. Most of which was never and will never be covered by the *press*.

So what else is new? You and I are in the same boat, pardon the pun. One wrong word and it's Leavenworth bound for treason. Another reason it's so hard to go back to being a civilian. Bet they pulled your clearance too. Did they do something right and give you full benfits and at least a 75% disability?

When I read the thread, I was thinking 'out of boating'.
So you're done? Was hoping to get you over here to Germany with me.

The Army gave me $20,000 for my troubles and I should be getting my monthly check from Vetrans Affairs soon. I'm going to relax for a few months then try to get a job on one of these bases around here.
