no manufacturer has ever made 1/14 or 1/16 scale RC cars. There seems every other scale has been covered: from big 1/5, 1/8, most common 1/10, 1/12, proliferated 1/18 to tiny 1/24. Do you see any reason? I just got very curious.

The Tamiya King Hauler and similar big rigs are 1/14th scale as well as the Carisma cars. 1/16th rings a bell somewhere for me too but I can't place it...maybe one of the old Tamiya Tamtech series cars.

Why would they make that size? 1/10 is almost too small to play with in the grass, and 1/18 is almost too big for indoors. The exceptions being things that are really big like semis and tanks. Anything in the middle would be useless unless it was onroad and carpet.

there's a simple answer to your question. It's just not standard. if you wanted to race someone with a different scale car then yours, it wouldn't really be fair now would it?
