I've been thinking about buying my first Radio Controlled Truck and with this in mind I need some help. My plan is just to have fun with it not to race. I'm thinking about 1/10 scale, not a mini or a big foot. I want something I can grow with and something I'm not going to get bored with after the first month. I don't know if I want gas or electric, but I do know I want a truck and I want to play in the dirt! So with that said, what brand and model do you think I should consider? I've looked at RC10 GT's, RC10 T3's and Losi XXX-NT's, are these models/brands good are there other trucks I should be considering? Oh ya, I don't want to spend a ton of cash, I'm thinking around $300.00 new (RTR) and I would even consider buying something used if it was a good deal.

Any help and/or suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

well, those are good for racing, but you might want to look at a MT for bashing. The best ones in your price range are the E-Maxx (electric) or the S-Maxx (nitro), or, for a little more, the T-Maxx, the TNX, or the Savage.

i love the b3/t3. id say start elec and go nitro later. i have a t3 for sale if u want pm me i can hook u up most likely.

as for what people will tell u

1. search the forums
2. look at your lhs for parts support
3. how much experiance do u have and are u willing to retune nitro every time u want to run and do u want to clean it all up?

i say go elec and buy used so that u can buy hop ups and have fun without worrying about it

However, electric has problems of it's own. Nitro, once you get it tuned, you can run for as long as you want-it only takes 10 seconds to refuel. Electric, on the other hand, you run it for 10 mins, and charge for 30-45. They each have their advantages, so choose carefully.

yes but have charge cycles but u also have to cool a nitro. and with current batt tech u can run a 19 turn motor for 20 mins if u dont full throttle it the whole time and then u charge for only 15. we areny goin to do anotheer thread debating nitro vs. elec it just seems that a lot of people i know who started elec are still in it and the starters of nitro arent anymore cause they got too fed up with it

Anyone else?

I'm not trying to lean either way, I'm just trying to give the pros and cons for each. Also, a 3300 batt that would run for that long takes more like 35-45mins to charge at an average charge rate, not 15.
