I boiught these inserts and was so excited i didnt have to buy a new tranny case! I would just like to tell their that your 3mm insert is a pile of horse crap. I have been trying for the last 1.5 hrs to get 2 of the insterts out that broke loose. And i finally did, butdoing so 2 of the inserts are shot. I would like to tell you this is the worst 18$ i have every spent on any thing i have boughten. For one you cant tap the inserts you would either have to POUND them in or do what i do and you could use a vice to push them in( that worked great). For the other 6 that actually worked they were way harder to screw in/out than screwing into plastic. Why would they use BRASS instead of steel or 7075 aluminum? The brass is WAY to soft of a metal. I have a huge race coming up in 2days and thanks to their POS product chances are i wont be able to run, unless i can come up with a quick solution.

My suggestion never buy these, never.
i would rather buy a barbie doll and play with that for 1.5 hrs than use these, atleast a barbie doll will work!!

sorry for the rant!

Had the same prob installing them in the hole drilled with their supplied drill bit. I have a set of numbered drills and I just started increasing the hole size until I found the size that let me get the inserts installed -wasn't that much bigger, maybe .010 bigger, but sure made a diff!

Then I used epoxy on them as I inserted them to be sure they wouldn't move on me in the bigger hole I had drilled. The first one I used CA on since I didn't want to pull it back out. Mine have been really great. I totally agree - the insert kit as delivered is poor an is hard to install.

I put a screw into the insert and using pliers, could rock it back and forth and got it back out. I spent hrs like you before I finally drilled the holes a little larger and got it done. Was going to do another trans in my other Maxx, but said, no way!
