Has anyone tried this pipe and is any good?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/sutman/712.jpg

RB 01900-401 TM01 Series. This tuned pipe has been designed for the RB TM line : providing an incredible high torque this pipe will offer you a wide spectum of RPM. Manufactured on high quality polished aluminium, this pipe is very strong and fits almost all Monster trucks with its side pressure nipple

i'm using a TSAIS 1/8 off road truck i bought from rchub.com..not the fancy one with that extended hot rod looking exhaust....

Hey guys I modded the stock engine this past weekend. I did exactly what steve pond did in to a S-25. And I must say that this thing is now an animal. The bottem end is scary, and its not bad on top either.

I put about 1 tank through it and it ran like a raped ape! I could not keep it in a straight line with the stock tires. I can't wait until summer and really let this thing scream. Hopefully the bowties will grab on our clay.

I have to give mad props to Steve Pond for showing us how to do the mod!

hi where can you see the S.Pond mod for the stock?
thanks

I'm getting about 6 minutes on a tank, running hard, with SH 28 (2ft. tubing). How long of run time are you guys getting with the Mach?

I get about 6 minutes too, with about 2ft. tubing and duel fuel filters. The mach seems to be thirsty.

Yeah I have all the springs, red, black(stock), Blue...

I have been running reds, with stock oil 70wt and stock diff oil with 1k,5k,1k
7k in the front should work, 50k in the center is really high but I think I will go 5k,25k,1k and will see how she feels. I am going to start messing with the shock olils this week, and springs. Think I will go back to the blacks up front since I am changing tires, drop the oil by 10 to 60wt. The Rear I will drop back to 50 and bump the springs to black then blue to see how it changes the handeling charateristics. Once I get this so the truck handles like I want I will start to mess with Caster and roll center.

If anyone has C8190 I really need a set of body posts...

Got the Truck out on the track on Sunday for our local races. This truck handles great. I still need to adjust to some of the jumps on the course, coming from racing my REVO all the time, this is my first truggie.

She had a lot of power, and handled really well. Took the triples in one and the quades 3 and 1 and also cleard the table top...surprise the heck outta me. Came second in both qualifyings and 4th in the "A" Main.

Nothing broke, but the back chassis brace did come off all I need to do is add a washer and I think its all good.

great truck.

Ericson...

MY GOODNESS.. your MACH 26 is a world of difference from the HB 26. SHE GO!!!!!!

I thought that was pretty nutz making top of the OUTLAW "A" Main when just doing the second qualifying...Good Truck....GOOD DRIVER!!!

That Mach is an awesome engine, I stay debating on the HPI K4.6 or the Mach for Keehi Lagoon's track. I know that track is going to be killer big. But yeah, I'd reserve the big gun for the big track.

KDEN catch ya next time!!!

the eb mods rossie 8 port is sick.. it still balloons the front tires some even with the 50k center diff oil.. it was worse before i added the blue springs to the back..

try the stock tires on the hardpacked stuff.. you will be suprised at how well they do work... else bowties..

engine.. i love the sick engine i have.. well worth the 380 i spent on it shipped to me from crispy... already modded at that...

70wt stock.. i dont think so... i know someone else told me that but its less... fill one shock with 50 wt and feel how the 50 is thicker then stock..

About the alum. shoes. I toasted a four shoe (alum.) Unlimited Engineering Clutch with my Wasp. 28. I am running an SH 28 pro now, and I'm using the stock clutch. We kind of covered the clutch thing several pages back. But carbon three shoe, with extra shoes. Nobody here has tried the new Werks racing clutch. Just face it, Big Power causes more wear on the clutch. With good shoes the stock one works fine.

Is the SH.28 a pretty much drop in engine?

Saw some on ebay for 140.00 and I would like to try that out. Any issues with that motor, tuning wise?

I just ordered a CRAZY NUT cooling head for my stock HB 26 motor. Hope that would give me some cooling issues with this motor.

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and I've recently bought the Lightning Stadium RR, I didn't realise there were so many other hopups on the pro version otherwise I would have bought the pro. I've already ordered the hardened gear sets, some ali knuckles and the three shoe flywheel. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to diff weights etc. So I put 50k front 30k ctr and 10k rear, is this ok? I intend to race on astroturf and loose dirt.

Does anyone know if the Sirio 27 is a good engine? As I am thinking of maybe getting the pullstart version. Does/has anyone use the heat cycle method of running in recommended on the RBmods website and would you recommend it?

I'm from the west midlands in the UK, anyone else on here from around that way?

Just wanted to say big props to everyone else with the stadium, I love the looks of it and I can't wait to get in a race with it!!

TIA for any advice you guys can give and I have to say the info you have provided has been invaluble so far :o

Go back thro the thread as i there is someone with a sirio 27 in one here, sutman i think it was.

Not from england but Wales instead (/points at the rugby score :p ) and we race on grass with some astroturf bits down here. From a bit of testing i would say your front diff is going to be way way to tight with 50k in it. I settled on 5k rear, 10k front and 30k centre.

Just ordered a wasp .26 for my truggy, was either that or the sirio ;)

the sh will require changign the bak plate to a smaller one like the mach does.. but it only needs a backplate and you can reuse the original roto start on it..

toe = wheels with no tires first off.. tires throw off the measurement, and tape measure..

those are 3 port rossies..

i ran my 3 port rossi in my lsp for like 4 gal of fuel.. holds tune great, but it requires mods to make it fit the chassis.. back a few pages i have photos of th ehole i had to make.. else you have to shim the engine up 3mm and only 14t or 15t cb will fit.. runs nice with a 15t cb but has a semi low rpm peak.. ill say 32,000-35,000 roto start only has 1 option.. tigerdrive..

Wassup Eric,
the HB motor was temping around 240+. The highest I think was about 250, could have been higher. That is with the bottom end richend out (this thing has alot of bottom end) and leaned a bit on the top.

I went to the CRAZY NUT website and asked them what head would fit the HB 26, they said that the one for the savage was the one to get. I ordered it for $55 shipped and hopefully be here by the end of the week or eary next. Just in time for the next off road.

So.....I had some pro-line wheel hubs strip out and I sent them in for factory warranty. Many things came of this incident.

First, they were willing to replace my velocity sixes with the new 23mm size rims for no charge, which was cool by me.

But...then they informed me of a new policy. Because of all the breaking they have had, they are upgrading the strength on standard size (non 23mm) 40 series rims by using the spinner nuts. The nuts for the spinners have a ridge that causes the rim to ride on it and takes some of the torsional stress off the hub. These things are six bucks APIECE! But I figured I wanted my stuff to be warrantied and didn't want it to break, so I bought them.

Then, I went racing saturday. Well, lets just say I had some issues. First, the nuts were so strong and stiffened the hub so much, when i landed slightly (and I stress slightly) on the front left wheel more than flat, THE AXLE SNAPPED! This happened TWICE in two races. Rediculous. Obviously it has taken all the flex out of the wheel hub, but put it all on the axles, enough that a small (4 ft vertical, 8 ft horizontal maybe) jump is enough to snap them. Take a look below!

Anyhow, that isn't where it ends. After this, the rear wheel just came off, twice as well. Turns out the ALUMINUM nuts (how dumb) were already stripped out. Don't you think they should make some steel (strong) ones? They are sending me a new one, but jeez.

Anybody else have experience with this? Suggestions? I have the new 23mm now, but they have dirt works tires on them, and I like the bowties for racing.

I put SH in last week. It's an awsome motor. I've had the Mach it's good, I have a Wasp 28 it screems. The SH will out run them both when it comes to laying down some good laps. I put 3/4 of a gallon through it and never had the body off or touched a screw on the carb. It ran about 245 all day. If you are using a starter box, then get the back plate for the SH 21 pro buggy engine.

well to find out if that nitrohouse cooling head i wanted would fit i had to call them...so a phone call couldnt hurt...they were right thankfully and it fit on with no problem..but if its a .26 engine get a .26 cooling head and make sure there are the same # of top screws as the one youre interested in... some have 4 some 6...

Hi guys!

Finally managed to read all the threads. Needless to say I am super interested in the LSP pro. I already own a truggy (dominator with Maxx hybrid suspension conversion) but it's a bit outdated now and a bit too heavy for my likes.

Anyone has any idea what is the weight of this truck? (pro)

Thanks for any help

MB the sh28 is pull start with a big pull startl like the mach26 has..

id have to guess its weight is around 9lbs.. never weighed it though...

any 21/25/26 head will work on the stock engine thats made for a force/hpi engine AS long as it reuses the original head button...

You guys have any pointers for me on how to remove the shoes in my clutch? I never done this before. I have one I need to replace.

hyperstang
03-03-2005, 04:02 PM
There are springs that hold the shoes down. The shoe are held down from the tension on the spring, so pry the spring off the shaft (make sure this doesn't fly off somewhere and lose it) and the should release the tension and take the shoe's off.

If that answers your question...

This is the HPI K4.6 engine for the Savage. There are some AWESOME DEALS on ebay and no better time to get it than now. $174.00 for the engine is not bad at all.

Just wanted to know how it's doing or how it did becuase CRS, I think, had one in the break in process or something like that.

sh 28 is made by people that make the mach... the k4.6 is the new savage ss engine and ill beleive its made by the people who make hyper 8 ports... yea runs good in the lsp..

i also would NOT pay 170 for it.. find one for 400ish.. i got whole truck for 400, you can sell it as a new roller for 300 with all the parts it comes with...

honestly.. read thru the forum and decide if you want a pro version or not.. IMO id rather spend the extra 100-200 on a pro due to all teh other parts it has the non pro lacks..

I think I have quite a few question to ask all of you experts of the LSP. There are only 2 tracks in my vicinity. One of them is a tight track with smooth terrain. The other one is very rough and bumpy, it is very wide and one can reach high speeds on it. I only run on the rough one. Since the track is very bumpy I had to go from a 4 shock to an 8 shock setup on my Dominator Hybrid; I needed all suspension sensitivity and function possible. What I am afraid of the LSP is that I would definitely have to run without sway bars. How does this thing hold without them? Is the suspension active enough to soak the bumps? Maybe some better shock could solve the prob.

Thanks for any help

well first off if u have the LSP ur shocks are strong as any i am sure ,besides the lst lol...
and second the truck will soak up the bumps no prob.. and as for sway bars try with and without.. personal preference i would say.

I tried the truck without the sways bars, the truggy felt a tendency to dip a lot during turns, I definately saw an increase in body roll. One obvious handling characteristics i noticed was the front and the rear bottoms of the chassy really bottomed out during the turns (occasionally the chassis would hit the ruts in the turn and traction roll). I just disconnected one end of the sway bar to test the truggy's handling characteristics.

IMO i like it better with the sway bars connected.

But i wouldn't hurt to try yourself.

Thanks CRSMP5... that;'s very re-assuring.

How is the steering radius of this thing? With the hybrid I had a bad problem to steer on short tight tracks cos I wouldn't have space to accumulate enough speed to power slide the rear in the corners, so my tuning radius was crap. Revos would just out corner me each time. On the wide track it's all a different story then. I hope that the LSP doesn't have the same handicap.

all i did was change the steering servo to a high end digital KO propo servo, I have tons of steering in the tight turns. I even had to cut down some steering due to oversteer. I agree, I don't see the need for four additional shocks. Adding the extra shocks will just add to the maintenance. IMO shock maintenance gets humbug.

what was your lil steerin modification?

The tightest turning monster on the Market right now is the LST.
I have one and it turns sharp.
The LSP will be good for any track I would think you will just have to mess with the settings a little bit.
But if the track is super bumpy the stock shock oil is not silicone so that will have to be changed cause it thins out as you race.
You'll see just try it and see what happens!
Tomorrow is the first race for the MAch and the komodos!

cuzz,
gently lift the motor from it's cooling head and slowly back off the stripped screww. make sure get something to catch the motor if you do take out the screww.

If i strip one screw, i usually use one bigger or different thread screw to bolt the head back on. I never had problems with any leak or performance. in fact the gt still kicken.

Great day today out bashing with some friends turned into a really bad day on my last tank of gas for the day. Bye bye engine!!! Engine was running right at 220 deg all day. It also was feeling weaker then in the past before it let go.

Keegy: I did not trim the width at all. I trimmed the sides about 1/4 inch on both sides. Get you truck all lined up and see where it is hitting at. I took a yellow marker and painted the bottom of the frame so I could see where it was hitting. It will make a black mark on the body where the wheel is hitting at. I used a metal cutting tool and my dremel. Be carefull with the metal cutting tools. It will go thought the body very easy.

Hi, I guess since I blew my engine today it is time to build the entire truck up with good stuff. I dont have to have the best but I want good stuff. Stuff I need to figure out. engine, servos, exhaust, what dif oil to use. clutch, shoes, springs, Engine I am looking at is the SH28. and plan to put pull start on it for back up. Since you seen the SH28 run mabey you can give me a few ideas on a nice set up.

Thanks,

im responding to this in this thread... want all to see...

first off.. you need a new backplate and pull start, post 788 http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showpost.php?p=1688839&postcount=788 is a idea.. the backplate and pull start is the exact same size as the mach and WILL NOT FIT the lightning chassis.. 2 people used gs storm backplates on their machs.. the 1 way is the same part so do not need it though unlike the mach

i like mugen composites with .9 springs.. 1.0 or 1.1 will melt shoes

exhaust.. do some reserch.. different pipes do different things..

same with diff oils.. i like 50k in the center of mine, 7k front, 3k rear..

servos.. again reserch.. different ones do different things and have different ratings..

Got to run with my new fantom 27 and I'm pretty impressed. It's not a top end screamer like some of em out there, but went up a tooth on the clutchbell and took care of that problem. Was actually keeping pace with a mbx5 during practice and he's running a vspec. Running a midrange pipe and I'm gonna switch out to a spare single chamber torque pipe and see what happens. The guy that ran an ofna blazer last week bought a RR and brought it to the track this week! :D No more little yappy dog chasin me around the track now.

fitted an orion wasp .26 today, just put 5 tanks thro and have come down a bit on the mixture and already its way quicker than the stock engine with plenty more "tune" to come. Massive improvement all in all. Running 20k centre but going to have to go up some as its dumping too much to the front wheels on take off. Still on the stock pipe (ran outta money to spend this month) so no doubt a bit more to come :) Staying on the stock cb for now, looks like its going to be about right for our track.

Quite impressed by how far this motor rev's for a .26, only thing i can fault with it is it seems a bit on/off at the moment with not a huge amount of control to the throttle - maybe that will change once its dialled in properly and not overly rich. Also running quite a hot plug in there (mc59) as its bloody freezing here at the moment.

Any suggestions on a good pipe to match this engine? need something to suit a track with good long straights and largely technical infield, so i guess a middle of the road number.

Eric
thanks for advice, finally got the darn screws out.
Going to the shop to see if I can get replacement ones. Just waiting on the CRAZYNUT head to come in so that I can tune the engine to that.

StoneSavage,
thanks for the HEAT advice, I did heat up the first screw and it started turning, but as soon as I got that one out, the rest came out with no problems. But I aint using those screws again...

fitted an orion wasp .26 today, just put 5 tanks thro and have come down a bit on the mixture and already its way quicker than the stock engine with plenty more "tune" to come.

THAT WILL NOT CHANGE ALL PICCO 26/wasp/p3 ARE ON AND OFF SWITCHES NOT TO GREAT FOR RACING!! sh28 or mach26 would be a much smoother powerband ofna mid/top end pipe works well with picco26.

I tend to disagree with you all regarding the picco 26. I have that engine in my hybrid and it is very raceable. It's got all the power, torque and revs you can want from an engine. You have to use a high tooth CB with this engine. If you use the stock CB, no wonder it will be an on off switch. Get a 15 or 16T CB to staunch the torque and I hope you have upgraded the radio gear. Use the throttle exponentials to forward the response more gently to the engine. Here are a couple of pics of me truggy.....

OK just picked up a new RR off Ebay, should be here on Wed. I've been thinking about seeling the stock electronics and engine/rotostart/pipe. But I'm kinda torn on the engine. Is it worth keeping or should I look for something different. I probably won't be racing, just playing hard. As for a steering servoe, would you go with a Hitex HS-645MG or should I swap out my digital Futaba S9350 since its faster and a hair stronger? Any tips on little stuff I should do before I run or hop ups to pick up immediately would be great. Thanks for the help.

Using a 645 for steering and 625 for throttle - manages the 40 series wheels perfect :)

As for the stock motor - i was gonna keep mine but got a bit extra in my paycheck this month so got a wasp .26 and its wayyyy better - and given that there are better motors out there i would reccomend changing it if you have the chance to be better again :)

Also I use the Hitec 645 and like it alot.

The mach was a great engine toasted the clutch on sunday as I said before now I am torn between teflon and aluminum shoes.
I had the 9mm springs in the truck and it messed up any way cr.
Just so you know.
But then again you are running alot more engine than me but that little track is hard on the clutches.
The other guy that was there was using a ws7 engine and Kyosho teflon shoes with the stock size tires with no problems!
What shoes should I use ?????????????

a force non pull start backplate is all i can think of IF they make one..

ok.. parts interchangability between stadium and buggy..
ring and pinion different aka spiral cut

95% of the plastic parts are the same on a v1 buggy to the stadium, lower/upper arms, servo tray standoffs (taller, but the v1 servo set up will drop right in), tank is different but is direct fit...

90% of the v2 buggy plastic is same as stadium, radio box is different along with suspention arms neither will fit stadium

metal differances... the rear center driveshaft is same as the front on teh stadium, wheel drive shafts differemt, ring and pinion, shock towers, rear brace, chassis rest is same..

I took my steering servo out of my Kanai and put it into the LSP. It is an HS HiTec 5945. This this is ultra fast and have had no problems with it at all. Also using the aluminum arm that comes with it. Don't want to be breaking the horn while I am racein. I also left the HB throttle servo in there, later, I'll put in my 5925, but it's still in my Kanai. I use these two servo combos even in my REVO that I race...

If you are going to be buying a new Hitec, you might choose one of the new digital titaniums over the older 925/945 or 5925/5945 series. They have better specs and are reported to be more durable than the older Hitec servos. I personally have the 5995 robotics servo in my LSP. Had it in there for one weekend and it worked very well. Time will tell how durable it is. For the throttle I used the stock HotBodies steering servo. No problems stopping the truck.

pro line standard maxx wheel offset is what i use .
i do have the hd 23mm wheel with adapters that i am not happy with the offset . i am waiting on the wabash rim to come out and try that ..

CRSMP5 should not be making defamatory statements about a well known company and sponsor to the sport such as PRO-LINE . crsmp5 has problems with the 40 series pro line rim from what i remember reading and i agree with him that they are not a great rim to use . the 40 series rims bend too easy and crack too easy.

But, yeah, I and others have no problems running the Outbacks or that other one..I can't remember at the top of my head, but they seem to be running Okay.

I am hesitant to get the 26MM, but I guess I'll wait until I need new tires to go ahead and get them. Also picked up some RPM rims also...

Speaking of new tires..

Is anyone running IMEX tires with their truggies?

I was at a LHS and I needed new tires and they had the IMEX tires that look like MULCHERS but I don't know what IMEX ones are called. Are they any good?

Thanks

Anyone?
Standard,

IMO, offset rims will make the truck too wide for our track.

pro line standard maxx wheel offset is what i use .
i do have the hd 23mm wheel with adapters that i am not happy with the offset . i am waiting on the wabash rim to come out and try that ..

CRSMP5 should not be making defamatory statements about a well known company and sponsor to the sport such as PRO-LINE . crsmp5 has problems with the 40 series pro line rim from what i remember reading and i agree with him that they are not a great rim to use . the 40 series rims bend too easy and crack too easy.

ive seen way to many normal maxx sized wheels broken on savages.. not to mention 40 series.. they have a great warentee policy, its just i do not reccomend their wheels, i speak from what ive seen and no one can pay me off to say different.. if ive offended you so be it.. but id rather be dead honest then a sell out to some big name that sponsors things like this hobby.. id rather see someone buy somethng and be happy with their purchase then dreading the fact they have to mail off the broken stuff wait and in a month or two, yes sometimes it takes that long, to get replacements back...

also in the 1st few threads of this post i slammed HB on stupid design aspects on the truck.. its a thing of knowledge.. as long as you know what your getting into and the negatives then you can make a wise desision.. to paint a ahh its great picture then the wheel rips off after a small jump just is not right..

so ill keep to my thoughts, tell it like it is, and at least i have not been paid off by anyone.. its nice to see that they somehow paid you off....

ohhh also i have broken 1 RPM wheel.. in 3 years its the 1st ive ever seen broken and i did it on my LSP, seen stripped ones too but usually the nut was loose... it was the monster claw wheel with the fragile looking 3 spoke design.. i still have not seena broken 6 spoke one though... but for weight i was using the 3 spoke design..

I just picked up the 3 spoke design...should have thought that when it was in the clearance bin.

Oh well...race um till I broke um!!!

CRS..do you run Imex tires??

Ericmyson,
So what..good to go this Sunday. Going to run a new lid so looking forward to painting this weekend. Found out that that the CROWD PLEASER made for the TNX,SAVAGE was to big if I wanted to run with the wing on, so I got another Crowd Pleaser for the REVO and she go. Looks good to and clears the muffler.

couple of guys was using um, but they they said they're not as effective as the "mulchers".. They were saying that it would spin on the loose dirt like bowties. Must be how the pins are lined up, i guess.

Running RPM clawz stablemaxx offset with traxxas sporttrax tires and loving em. I have ran imex pinn dawg tires and really liked them, still running them on my 21 maxx now. My biggest gripe about imex tires are the mediums are too hard and the softs don't last long enough, but how they gonna make money if you don't buy new ones right :D

Does anybody know where I can lay my hands on a set of 17 degree front carriers. Everybody that I've tried is out of stock and won't have em till the end of the month. Tried horizon, stormer, tower, A-main, even called hotbodies today, no luck. Down and out unless I can get a set.

Anyone using the HiTec HS-945MG servo? I think that is the one I am going to get. I just order my SH28, backplate and pull start for back up incase I have any problems with my starter box. I still need to figure out what exhaust to get. What exhaust would you gets look at for this engine? I was looking at Jammin Jp-1 and also the 63 and 86.

I am running the Jammin JP1 on my SH 28 pro. It's a good combo. You'll like it. I also have the new titanium Hi-Tech servo, I like it to.
I have to agree with above statement. I am using the standard velocity wheels, and bowtie tires on my LSP. These are the same wheels/tires I used most of last season on my Savage, No breakage. I did thrash the 40 series that is how I got these, Pro-line sent them to me. If you are breaking these you need to consider your driving style. You must be a basher, or hacker. You better get some very heavy Maximizers.

hey...i love my IMEX pin dawg tires...like the bowtie but smoother...i have a set of pro line bows but im not that into them...mulchers wouldnt seem to work on a harder packed dirt...they seem more like sand tires to me..they do look evil though!

i got some TMAXX titanium turnbuckles to stiffen up the chassis as i read on the forum...i was wondering if i needed to fasten them REALLY tight or should there be a little play in the turnbuckle plastic heads..? and where exactly do i need to be attaching them to , FRONT and REAR?

i suggest front and rear but if u can only do one def do the rear ... tonite i was lookin over my braces and i wasnt happy with the rear set up i had goin on .. there was still lots of flex ..

before u start puttin braces on see what kind of chassis flex u have goin on..keep an eye particularly on the center diff .. then do the bracing and compare.. i dont like my center diff moving at all ..

u want to maintain perfect gear mesh .. and a flexing chassis doesnt allow this ... this will save on cluthes ,cluth bells , bearings and so forth....

current setup -
645 steering servo
625 throttle servo
Orion wasp .26 with picco 069 pipe
diff oils - front 10k, centre 30k, rear 2k
Stock springs (shocks mounted on the inner holes on the arms)
60wt rear shock oil, 50wt front
23mm hub conversion, 40series velocites with bowties

Working brilliantly on grass (which is what we race on), might try dropping the front diff oil to 7 or 5k to see what its like, its currently a little tight.

Loving the wasp too, pipe made a hell of a difference and have changed the arc on the throttle a little so its no longer lightswitch like - have actually got alot of throttle response and accuracy now. (using a sanwa gemini 2)

Actually I was using the Unlimited Engineering 4 shoe clutch. (alum.) I smoked those shoes in a day. So I put the stock 3 shoe with fresh springs, and carbon shoes. It's holding up, and hooking up with the sh 28 pretty good. I'm just going to keep using stock, and keep some extra shoes on hand. I also am using the Ofna 14t clutchbell. 100 center-10 front-7 rear. It rocks. We had our first practice night at the track last night. I had a blast, nothing there could come close to my LSP. (OS 18 Revos, 4.6 SS, SUT, and GTs).

I am going to try the shoes that are still in there and the .9 springs again.
They fry another set of bearings then I am going to go with the Mugen shoes and mugen 1.0 springs or the .9 spring again.
I'll have to see what happens.
Truck runs great on the streeet but set it on the track and it seems to slip the clutch but then again the track puts way more stress on the drive train also!

This truck looks like a real killer on the track. But still I can't convince myself that it can steer sharply on short tight tracks. My truggy was hopeless on such tracks cos the track was too short to accumulate enough speed to power slide the rear. So i had to rely on the pure steering radius of the vehicle which made me fail miserably. Anyone has a clip of the LSP on a tight track?

Thanks

welll my plan is the following -

buy the stadium pro
get rid of the aluminium arms and get the plastic ones
diff oils 5k - 100k - 2k (I know front oil is a bit too light but i don't want to sacrifice front diff action)
brace up the chassis
mulchers all round
picco .26 + 063 pipe (less than a gallon thru it)
cvds? don't know if they hold to the torque, I'll see if the MIP MGT cvds will fit.
MX-3 synthesized radio
Airtronics 200 oz 0.10s servo
maybe MGT tank in receiver box location

any advice?

I raced a Dominator for 3 years, and I thought it turned quite well. That is until I got my LSP. Even though it's about 2 in. longer, it will out corner my Dom on thight tracks with no problem. By the way, I did have a center diff in the Dom.

So i had to rely on the pure steering radius of the vehicle which made me fail miserably. Anyone has a clip of the LSP on a tight track?

Thanks
Chris

Billy,
I thought the same thing about the lsp, i thought it was going to push like hell. I have an mgt, the lsp has nearly the same wheelbase and width as my mgt. To be honest, the lsp turns as good or even better than my mgt and my mbx-5.
Our track is really tight and my lsp has NO problem in turning, on or off power  .
I've had the lsp a little over a month. I had two races on it and nearly three gallons thru it. This lsp is still making me feel like i'm running it for the first time everytime I run it on the track. IMO this truggy is all it's hyped up to be. To tell you how potent the lsp is; during open practice weekends we have here at our tracks, I race with prospec mbx-5's, and kyosho 777s and other high end buggies. The lsp is up and up with these high end buggies. The drivers of the buggies are A-main drivers at our track. My mgt could never come close to those buggies but my lsp's performance is equal(maybe even better) to most of them.

I'm wondering why r/c car action and xtream r/c mag the two leaders!! NEVER TALK OR MENTION THE SLIGHTEST word about hot bodies!!! I mean this truggy is the hottest r/c on planet earth!! r/c car mag is all over it! and there the small fish! along with r/c driver mag who is a little bigger! I'm thinkin there's tension between HB and the big dawgs.
