fly.. i know what ya mean.. plastic arms bend them real good.. over on the otherforum this topic just came up as a discussion and there are people who disbeleived of such things happening.. but it does.. my son bent one so good it would stop rotation of the wheel when it hit the lower arm or swaybar..

Jackyl

I saw a pic that a guy posted "can't find it now" But he showed the front arm bending upwards over 1/2" ! it was crazy, and he said on a hot day racing he can get it to flex even more!! I'd run the aluminum arms. the cvd's are not cheap!

I should have know that is where it was :D thanks man!!

Now that just proves what I was saying:D and before anyone asks those are hyper 7 c-hubs, sutman stated that the 17 degree c-hubs fit quite well :D

CRSMP5

i saw a set of those in person.. they limit steerign very very badly.. i would not use them except in dire need..

Monsterbrad
08-02-2005, 11:56 PM
I will stick to the aluminum arms!
Just make sure that you keep the area where the arm rides in the holders by the diff cases lubed with WD-40 or something to keep them from getting torn up.

CRSMP5
08-03-2005, 06:33 AM
mb you should look up white lightning bike chain lube.. wd40 attracts dirt

Monsterbrad
08-03-2005, 09:18 AM
I use teflon stuff
Tri Flow

fyi.... when i bent my front CVD drive shafts, i replaced them with ones off the Losi LST... the LST shafts are slightly thicker, and chromed, and cost about 12 bucks a pair (just for the bone part)... also, the Losi shafts are very easy to find at most hobby shops....

CRSMP5

what do you think the boy is bending on his truggy conversion.. LOL.. hb ones are brittle and would snap in the middle..

Is anyone using the KingHeadz aftermarket parts on there trucks?

I am looking for some feedback...Good, bad, or no difference...

tmaxxster4375
08-11-2005, 10:30 PM
I have the front hinge pin brace, frt chassis brace, st. ackerman, and the plate that connects the radio tray and box. The stuff is top notch and looks awesome, I will be getting more of kingheadz stuff for mine.

Jackyl
08-12-2005, 01:16 AM
The kindheadz stuff is beefy! But with beef comes weight. So depends on the kind of driver you are. Do you need that extra beef for when you smash into that last hairpin at full tilt? Otherwise save your money "kingheadz isn't cheap!!" and just well learn to drive :D

But if you want the beef for some bashing then all means headz it up! There are a few things that kingheadz makes that would be good on a racer. like the ankerman and that's about it. ok sorry not a few, just one

gotspeed_2000
08-12-2005, 07:05 AM
I also run most of the King Headz parts and they are good quality stuff. They do add a bit of weight, but the added strength is well worth it.

Monsterbrad
08-13-2005, 11:44 AM
Where are you guys getting the king headz stuff at?

tmaxxster4375
08-13-2005, 12:10 PM
I got it right from www.kingheadz.com but amain hobbies has it alittle cheaper.

what happened to everyone??

well i painted my starterbox.. took a bit of thinking, wanted to do this to the garbage truck, but needed to figure out the method, so i can reverse it for lexan..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v406/CRSMP5/lsp/box/box007.jpg

alot of time in it.. th esteps are on the other forums i use in the paint sections.. it was actually pretty simple.. the trick is color selection and order..

CRSMP5
08-25-2005, 06:25 PM
would be if i put my 3 port in it.. LOL.. but it hangs with mikes eb modded 28 8 port might be a little slower getting to top side.. but passes it in the end.. LOL.. but hyper 21 race vs eb modded 28 8 port we are speakign of a 250$ price differance.. LOL.. its enough to shame him.. its also more then enough for the boy, but for me i have my 3 port i can drop in.. till i buy a p&s for my k4.6

Monsterbrad
08-26-2005, 12:08 AM

I can say that!
Have plans going on in my head already for next racing season and the up comming winter season at Ryans track.
This is going to be fun!

CRSMP5
08-27-2005, 10:56 AM

Monsterbrad
08-29-2005, 02:55 PM
Ryan will be runnig again too Chris
Not sure if you will be interested I know last year you got pissed.
I was thinking about hitting CRCRC in Columbus this year too a couple times on a friday night.
That would be fun.
Smashed the LSP yesterday for the first time during practice.
Took the left front out including the shock and broke the hing pin retainer in half.
Then ran my partners back up truck and blew the rear diff outa that.
OH well

CRSMP5
08-29-2005, 05:02 PM
but ya got to see the swb lsp halin garbage.. LOL..

Keith-OH

Monsterbrad

I just want to hit some different tracks once the points are over at K&B and crcrc is on the list of places to go a few times.
I have been there a bunch of times but have never raced there.
It would be cool to get a bunch of people to go!

CRSMP5
08-30-2005, 10:21 AM
i cannot pull fri off.. so ill never hit crcrc..

Monsterbrad
08-30-2005, 11:14 AM
Fixed my broken up front end
Put Ofna 9.5 shocks on the front of the truggy.
THey are threaded too
Everything else was nothing just had to straighten out one of the hinge pins.
Back in business
All I can say is everything in the truck is taking a beating with all this racing.

CRSMP5
09-03-2005, 11:18 AM
brad.. look at www.hpiracing.com/hellfire im wondering how this will do against stadiums

Monsterbrad
09-03-2005, 05:32 PM
Looks cool
But all HPI stuff looks great!
We'll have to see when the specs come out too.
Has the 28 in it but it looks a little short.
The stadium's length is what makes it handle great.
Plus the stadium was the first and only actuall truggy and was not based off a buggy.
I don't know what to think about that new truggy

Hello guys I have the lightening GT. I live in england so we dont have the terrain most of you have on your door step. I would like to know your feed back on different engines which you have used and have found to be easy to tune as I feel the standard engine is ok but I am now after somthing a little more reliable and faster.Another bummer is that I have one part which is broken and its stopping me from running and I cant find it in any of the online shops the part is the head button its the part that the glowplug is screwed into.

CRSMP5
09-04-2005, 09:09 PM
ofna force 26 headbutton will fit..

http://www.hotbodiesforum.com/ has alot of feedback on the engines..

CRSMP5
09-04-2005, 09:18 PM
http://www.novarcproducts.com/headbuttons.html

the force 26 one they have!!! ;)

only place online i could find one at.. also IMO the nova coolign heads are the best on teh market.. so you can even buy one of them if you want to go with it..

Monsterbrad
09-05-2005, 01:32 AM
I like the Mach and the K 4.6 for rtr engine's so far!
I have them both right now and they work very well.
If you are looking for another engine that is my 2 choices that are fairley cheap.
THe other option that I would consider but is way more expensive is the 528x Novarossi!
That engine from what I have heard is rippin for the truggy.
Of course there are many other engine's that work well too but this truck /truggy needs torque to make it feel quick.
Good luck with your engine choice
today's market makes it fun :)

anyone had problems leaning out on last quarter tank?mine did it for like 5 tanks ..any solutions to this problem?

CRSMP5
09-08-2005, 05:50 PM
never had a issue with my buggy or lsp.. same tank..

Monsterbrad
09-09-2005, 01:15 AM
I had that issue with my 2 savages that I had but not the LSP.
Check your vent tube and fuel lines
one mught have a hole in it
or the tank could be cracked somewhere

vbgagnon
09-12-2005, 10:29 AM
I've been having that problem as well. Haven't had time to mess with it yet.

CRSMP5
09-12-2005, 05:51 PM
odd.. what do you think the issue is?? i know.. what fuel filter are you guys using?? ive seen too many seep air at the removable section this summer..

Monsterbrad
09-12-2005, 06:43 PM
I have not had any problems with this truggy and the leaning problem just the savage's that I have had.
I have seen the bigger fuel filters leak also cause I had one off my original LST that leaked but that sometimes can be fixed by tightening the filter up as tight as you can get it.
Also what are the stock front hub carriers degree???
22 or 17
I think 22 but I can't remember

CRSMP5
09-12-2005, 10:16 PM
17* 22* hb ones no fit unless you use buggy upper arms, and will turn worse..

Monsterbrad
09-13-2005, 05:38 PM
I was on amain looking at the truggy stuff they are the factory ones that you can get either 17 or 22 degree.
I think the 22 degree ones are the stock ones.
Hey CR I have a set of buggy ones that are brand new you interested in them at all?
maybe a trade for some truggy ones??

CRSMP5
09-13-2005, 06:11 PM
NO 17* are stock.. 22* are NOT stock stadium.. they are v2 buggy ones..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v406/CRSMP5/buggymods/chub/chubmod001.jpg
those are 17* ones i was moddign to use on my v2 buggy that comes with 22* ones stock.. thats HOW they are different.. 22* will not fit the stadium unless you put v2 buggy upper arms on it..

I DO NOT USE 22* c hubs.. they turn like crap

carcass227
09-13-2005, 06:19 PM
sorry

Monsterbrad
09-13-2005, 11:36 PM
I have buggy ones
you interested?

CRSMP5
09-13-2005, 11:56 PM
not if they are 22* ones.. aka photo to the right ones.. im using 17* ones on everything i run as they turn better.. ive got th eoriginal 22* ones in my pit box..

you going to k&b sat?? ive been painting up a new buggy body.. :D and you know me and my paint jobs.. LOL.. made for the dark.. LOL..

vbgagnon
09-14-2005, 07:00 AM
I'm using a racers edge filter. I'll check and see if its as tight as it could be.

CRSMP5
09-14-2005, 11:02 AM
remove the filter with a piece of clear fuel tubing.. watch for air..see if ti solves the issue..

Monsterbrad
09-15-2005, 08:54 AM
or just take the filter out and try that
that is what I had to do to solve the air bubble problem I was having.
I threw that filter out and got a new one and it's cool now
Cr I probably will not be making that night race
I am not sure what degree they are
next time I see you we can check them out but they are for the buggy and I don't own one and you do :)

CRSMP5
09-15-2005, 09:57 PM
brad its simple.. the stadium and v1 buggy use same ones.. the v2 buggy does not have the ears on top for the upper arm.. LOL.. they bolt directly into the knuckle on them..

you should see my buggy body for sat night.. LOL.. your missing another CRS original WTH paint job..

CRSMP5

i say hold out for the pro-r unless your in dire need now.. race season is about over for most of us..

Monsterbrad
09-18-2005, 09:41 PM
I would say the same
Hold out and wait for the pro r
Just worry about what engine to get for now.
I hope to be getting the new pro r myself :D

gr8taz nitro

Won 3rd place in the MO state nitro series on Sunday!!
Trusty stadium pro got me through the four race series and the finals without a broken part except for the twice blown fantom fr27. Top three finishers were all running LSP's. The kyosho conversions and the mugen conversions didn't stand a chance LOL. :D

Monsterbrad
09-20-2005, 05:37 PM
Congrats!!!!!
that's cause like you said
CONVERSIONS
this is the only truggy out there.

Monsterbrad
09-20-2005, 09:11 PM
I am going to say what I told cr earlier today
that is cool but I have to say that millling material out of the chassis weakens it in my mind no matter what anybody says.
But it does cut weight!

Ball Racing
09-21-2005, 07:49 AM
Only truggy?

CRSMP5
09-21-2005, 10:04 AM
well its the 1st real truggy.. gs storm sut i still do not consider a true truggy..

buggy suspention with wheel exensions to me is a converted buggy.. the jammin which i have not seen yet, is supposed to be a true truggy, the sportwerks is well looks like a toy.. sorry just have to say that, but it does use long arms not extensions, im waiting for more info on the new kyosho one to decide

Monsterbrad
09-21-2005, 05:56 PM
Most of these truggy's except the LSP are converted buggies.
I am just tellin it how it is.
Nobody has come up with anything like the HOT BODIES LSP with out takin the foundation of a buggy first.
we'll see what the future brings for competition!

Ball Racing
09-22-2005, 10:43 AM
Well I consider that a 1/8th Stadium Truck.
If it is not a buggy combination , it's just that,, a purpose built truck.....

Monsterbrad
09-22-2005, 07:59 PM
I guess that's a good way to put it
1/8 scale stadium 4wd truck
I like the RACE TRUCK
that's what I call it when people ask me what I race
then I tell them the Hot Bodies LSP and they usually know what I am talkin about.
This thing is very popular which is cool

Hi Guys, I have a two part question, in the pass i have asked questions about what engine to run in my MGT and the help was good. First question,i want to buy LSP or LSP-R is there a big difference between them i am using them for dirt oval racing. Which one. Second Question, Is there a good web site that carries aftermarket parts for lightning pro. appreciate any help. Thank you

if you have a engine/electronics the pro-r is the only way to go..

aftermarket parts..
vertigo
kingheadz
racers edge
bce racing
advantage

http://www.hotbodiesforum.com/

now if you buy a pro-r.. only hop ups i would possibly think of... a hb lightning buggy pro cnc front anti bend rod, vertigos cf rear brace, top placte for the center diff and front brace, or the king headz front anti bend rod... thats the only thing it lacks.. just have to decide on which way you wanna do it... i have the vertigo stuff on mine.. as it ties front to rear vs all the others..

Hi Crsmp5, thanks for the comeback. I do dirt oval racing right now I am running MGT with wasp 26 before that I was running phantom 27 the two engines had worked done to them. I could only stay with the other trucks I couldn't pull away from them I am usually on the same lap. But I just can't pull away. That's why I wanted information hot body Pro or por-r I am thinking of go with Nova Rosie XR 28 or sirio hoping that these engines have power to pull away from the other trucks so thank you for getting back it helps.

what ive used..

the rb tm728
tops 28 3 port
tops 28 8 port..

i hated the 8 port the most.. unreliable vs the other 2, can fit 15t cb on it, its got more then enough power that ive seen to be no issue. th etrick with the 3 and 5 ports are a good pipe.. it has to flow so it revs.. i put a duratrax pipe on mine that i had sitting and forgot i even owned, and its so far the best pipe ive used on them.. makes them rev like my ws7II..

I have the HPI 4.6 engine in my truggy and like it very much.
The only thing is it needs the nova race products cooling head.
I raced it all season and it still has over 100 lbs of compression.
Nice power too
not to much just right for the amount of punch
but then again
I like alot of power and more would be nice :)

But I would like to get one that threads into the glow plug hole.
if hobbico has it that means that tower will have it.

CRS long time no see since your savageCentral days.Good to see your alive and well .I finally ordered a LSP Pro R to race next year and figured I should get one now while they are available.I got schooled by them racing my TNX against them this past year and enough is enough might as well join them.I also ordered the 3 carbon fibre chassis braces from VP.Any recommendations on anything else ie: servos, spares , gearing.I have a few BB to run allready a new LRPZ28 an OS30 coming from Badger at SC.Do the Wabash with 23mm work well on them as I have a set of 40series with Proline bow ties and a set of Panther Pythons on cut down Wabash.I was thinking of doing up a set of the Boas and aset of Crime fighters on normal offset rims

honestly, pimp my forum (www.hotbodiesforum.com) teh sad aspect is the section you need to look at, aka index in stadium section, at the moment is kinda usless as non of the links are working due to domain change as im taking it over.

basically the index is like how i used to do it on the natzi's forum and links to all the great need to know posts..

wheels/tires i ssomething that is more track dependent.. the wabash is more inset then off set, most people are using a standard offset wheel, and some use off set wheels.. i just picked up a set of zombies on off sets for next season

Well guys after a great season of racing my pro with the 4.6 in it and the Losi Zombie maxx tires on it it has served me well.
There is just one problem and CR was there to see it today.
I struggled with the new Mayhem truggy and ended up losing the last trophy race of the year to it :( .
But as was mentioned before that I have a tendency to jump the band wagon I refuse to give up on the Hot Bodies LSP.
It is here to stay and the pro will be ordered here in a month or so.
But in saying all that watch out for the Mayhem with a good driver like today they are a pretty good running truggy.
Just ticks me off how "buggy like" it is.
Oh well brush up on the driving skills next year is going to be interesting.

whats wrong with buggy parts?

If you want a different brand truck, it will have buggy parts, and influence......

and you can't really say that since the lsp has no lightning buggy parts that it does not look like a buggy layout ,,,,,,,

well i spent yeasterday, part of today redoing mine brad.. pay attention to how the aluminum arms wear at the hing pin points for front c hubs and rear uprights.. i ended up machining areas and fitting a shim to remove slop/wear... now im waiting on my BCE chassis to put back together..

only metal item, including diff gears, that i saw that needs replaces is the front center cvd, major wear on it where pin goes thru.. the diffs after a year of abuse look great still..some bearings were seized, i put all new on my diffs/ring pinions, then moved those to the wheels..

besides the one cvd worn, i had both front wear the pin, that easy fix, lst replacement parts make new for 6$ and the rear center was great.. it sure will be perty for photo op when chassis gets here..

I have to go over mine here very soon.
I may run out to Ryans next weekend and race one more time before the tear down.
Then it will be a few weeks break while I get some new stuff for the truggy.
Hey CR I would like to chat with ya
Have some questions for you
that' s great to hear about the no wear on those diffs they take a ton of abuse with the big tires and the torque of the big engines.
Mine is still going strong
oh yeah by the way they do get very worn where the aluminum rubs together.
Mine is very worn in those areas.
I have found that some tri flo or wd-40 helps this out a ton.

badboy2
10-17-2005, 12:18 AM
i went to race today but unfortunately they didnt allow lsp's/truggies to run they said it didnt meet roars standards..i was dyin to race this thing..
what does those rods do?prevent bending something?

CRSMP5
10-17-2005, 11:03 AM
lay chassis flay on knee.. push towards knee on shocktowers.. see the flex??

brad.. wd40 = dust collector = more wear!! do not use wd40 or dirt retaining lubes on hingpins and stuff.. i run mine dry.. my cvds i use wax self cleaning lube white lightning, can be gotten from most bike stores.. works great..

also those who may have not noticed.. the hotbodiesforum has switched to www.truggyracers.com its still hb mass info, but the other truggies are now added into it.

Had a really great day of racing saturday. Got to run against Matt Gosch at the RB Mods race in springfield mo. The only thing I can say is wow, he is fast and very smooth in his driving. The jammin truggy he was running was planted on rails. He was the only one turning 10 laps in a 5 min qual. As you can guess he took first place, one of the mugen drivers took 2nd and I was down in 4th place at the end of the A-main. It's a shame hot bodies didn't up the offer to sponsor him because he's good, and he's a really nice guy. Talked to his dad Chris and I'm very impressed with them as a race team.

I need to do something about my off power steering on my LSP. It took me 2 x's as much room to make a turn as he was. Any suggestions?

I'm running 7k/50k/5k in the diffs, 50wt front and 45 wt rear on the shocks, red springs frt and blue's rear. I've got massive amounts of on power steering with standard size crimefighter MT's.

Monsterbrad
10-17-2005, 06:09 PM
try tightening up the rear breake bias.
Lock those rear tires up and throw it into the corners.
Thats how I work the truck
I run 120,000 in the center and 50,000 in the front and 30,000 in the rear.
My truck runs pretty well
CR has seen it in action

CRSMP5
10-17-2005, 07:06 PM
i know a sure fire way to get more off power steering.. parts not avaliable yet.. me will tell when they are though..

i also say like brad.. more rear brake bias, a little drift action and it turns on a dime..

another way, get a v2 buggy chassis and shorten the wheel base..

gr8taz nitro
10-18-2005, 05:48 PM
I don't really want to shorten the wheelbase because of the stability I get on the bigger high speed tracks. I tried increasing the rear brake bias and it helped some but on the technical sections no joy because I couldn't drive fast enough to be able to use the momentum to swing the rear around. This one section in particular was a u shaped turn but it had speed bumps all the way across in a fan pattern with a split S turn at the end as you exited out of the U turn. If I tried to carry some speed I could make the first couple of speed bumps tight but the split s made me turn the other direction and ended up going wide. If I went slower into the turn to try and run the center line off power I pushed bad and ended up on the pipe coming out. It's not the servo b/c I'm runnin jr z8800t's for steering on my buggy and my LSP. I'd hope 180+ oz/in of torque would let me hold my line. LOL

Monsterbrad
10-18-2005, 06:56 PM
Those are indeed good servo's.
I have to say that try driving harder :D

CRSMP5
10-18-2005, 08:48 PM
what engine ya got? more torque!! also there is a art to drifting.. think the chnnle is called g4, on sunday mornings they have drifting 1:1 car shows. one of th eshows teach you how to drift.. all they teach can be used on the lsp.. after i watched it, my drifting improved 100% have to know when to counter steer to change the weight balance to make a smooth drift.. this is key..

gotta watch it to under stand.. but turn wheel in other direct of the turn, nail the gas, cut back into turn hard and fast, spike the brakes when biased to the rear, more WOT, the rear end will rip around.. depending on the turn, brake bias, this will determin when to wip it in the wrong direction and when to counter steer to do this.. with in like 1.5 sec you will have counter steered, spiked the brakes and WOT it around the turn.. its fast, quick.. but got to be smooth..

Monsterbrad
10-19-2005, 07:55 PM
I have drifted my Camaro for a few minutes on street tires it's very fun but hard on street tires.
Any ways they make drift radio control sedans if anybody is interested.
HPI makes a conversion kit for one of there cars.
But the drifting thing does help in making this truggy turn nicely.
CR is right it takes some practice on the track that you are running on.
Get the timing right into the corners!

Something that just dawned on me and I'll have to check and see. I put the integy aluminum c-hubs that the make for the inferno 7.5 and took the stock ones off for that race, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the inferno c hubs 22 degree? If they are that would account for part of my loss of steering. And the motor that I'm running right now is a RB mod nova P5 with a bergonzoni 7 port sleeve in it. Power is not an issue and with a violator tank and 2 big daddy fuel filters, I did a 30 min main on 4 pits with fuel left in the tank afterward. :D

One of the things Bill did to custom tailor the chassis to our needs, he left the 3 cut outs to self fit via a file.. why you may ask.. kyosho tabes are a different size vs hb and people use kyosho hing pin braces on the LSP from time to time.

i started build up with my rear vertigo CF brace and pro-r mount blocks.

http://www.truggyracers.com/CRSMP5/Hotbodies/11_05/BCE_RC_Racing/9.jpg
time to add in the rear end. now most would rebuild the rear end at this point.. but i did that 2 weeks ago, before using this past weekend.

http://www.truggyracers.com/CRSMP5/Hotbodies/11_05/BCE_RC_Racing/10.jpg
time to add the front end.. since i have the vertigo front brace, its 1 unit with the center diff.. it also has the king headz anti bend rod for added strength..

I'm planning on getting the LSP R within the next month or two, and i wanna know a couple of things before i buy it.. This monster is going to be for racing!!!!!

1) Is 90 oz of Torque Enough? Transit Time? <--- Steering
2) Engine with a recoil fit?

CRSMP5
11-08-2005, 10:18 PM
depends on the engine... give me a list and i can tell..

i would be honest, 150-200oz depending on the tires used.. stock will work with 90oz due to their weight.. but one with more torque will work better in the long run.. you also want it to be as fast as possible..

www.truggyracers.com there is a pinned index in the stadium section with lots of "whats it need' questions and fixes listed..

hey brad.. lookie what im trying to get...

http://www.truggyracers.com/forum/uploads/images/111.jpg
i figure silver/chrome stickies to go with my cf/polished aluminum lsp would look sweet for table sitting at teh track..

Monsterbrad

Looks sweet to me
I would say for the steering servo nothing under 100 oz in torque.
I have tried lesser and they just dont cut it.
you probably will want .19 or faster transit time.

wow, i cannot believe this thread!! i first looked at it roughly a year ago...posted a couple weeks after....i cant believe i am going through it again from page one and i am still amazed at the mass info and great relations of everyone!! honestly, good job and thanks for such a pleasant and helpful read :) i continued following this thread for about a month till i realised i would not be able to go race back in January. I checked back once during summer, the other day i was at home and was planning on getting some of my RCs together (and my act together) but i ended up coming here. read the first 50 pages, then just came back today and read the last 75 + great stuff. :D

all i can say is that seeing this kind of camaraderie and seeing such a great piece of kit and people who actually use them (most important) has reawakened my great love for this sport. just need to pick up some of my stuff in my friends possesion and start making space and gathering funds...time to get back on track!

well brad i now own the last 2 of those cf look beetle bodies.. :D

CRS, is that body painted CF style or is there some sort of sticker layer on it?

also a bit offtopic, i am sorry to hear about your fall out with SC...that is where i first learned about you from and learned alot from u!! if this is such a great thread (and other previous ones similar to this) i am going to register right now at a couple of those more dedicated forums and keep track there too. :)

honestly, you need some parts to make life easy, the mach backplate is large and has fitment issues, the parts

my thread on it (http://www.truggyracers.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71)

the parts required
backplate and 1 way you will have to have, above link shows photos as to why (http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/148191.asp)
you will also need a pull start/roto start for it.. basically 30ish in parts so makes it a 150$ option.. BUT my issue with the mach is life span.. i do not see them getting more then 6 gal of life. you can buy a rossi 28 3 port for 180 from here (http://www.mugenracing.com/shop/index.html) but this will require making a hole in the chassis OR the BCE RC Racing chassis for direct fit.. BUT mine has over 7 gal is still going strong..

aluminum servo horns that are cut with the slpine to fit your metal splined servo's help also.

I was just wondering if there is a big difference between the lightning stadium pro and the the lightning statium rtr(not pro). Is the pro really worth the hundred extra dollars, the only real difference i can see is the alluminum arms.

CRSMP5
11-23-2005, 07:50 PM
aluminum arms
aluminum shock caps
aluminum cnc steering knuckles a 65$ item
the front kick up block is aluminum 30$ item
has hardend diff gears 30$ in parts
has center cvds 30$ in parts
has rubber sealed bearings vs metal shelded ones

see the value?? also the aluminum arms are 70$ a pair from HB.. so 140$ worth of arms, plastic arms are 7-8 a pair.. so if that worries you.. sell them and buy plastic..

i suggest looking at www.truggyracers.com at the pinned index in the stadium section for other hints/tips..

Monsterbrad

I have raced against the Mayhem!
All I can say is from what I have seen its a good handeling truck.
They are about even in all aspects except the LSP is just a little nicer and looks more like a truggy something that should be on the track.
The Mayhem looks cheesy if you ask me.
Get the LSP or the Pro R and do it up right you will be pleased.

11-25-2005, 07:29 AM
Thanks, I really apreciate that your helping me choose the right truck. Here is my situation, I have a T-Maxx which needs alot so I can race it next year. The track i am racing at next year has an unlimited class in which i am running in but they have around 4 truggies in that class and the drivers are pretty good from my persective. So now i am trying to fix up my maxx but wondering if i should just get a truggy. In my opinion a rookie racer like me who has hardly raced before, A truggy is going to destroy my T-Maxx. I just think that a truggy is easier to drive fast around atrack versus a T-Maxx which was never intended to race. So basicaly i am thinking about a truggy but money is a HUGE issue cause i ride snowmobiles and race karts and none of those sports are cheap. ok, so what truck in your opinion is the best bang for the buck but handles well? Thanks for all or any advice you can give.

CRSMP5
11-25-2005, 10:51 AM
the supermaxxes were no match for the truggies, the lightweight tmaxx that runs with us has the same issue.. if your running against truggies, buy a truggy.. if you have a actual mt class and truggies seperate buy a lst or a savage.. LOL..

wait till after xmas.. if your comfortable lots will be selling used stadiums due to jumping to other truggies on the market.. i keep seeing nice examples with spare parts for 300-400 on truggyracers.. stick to the pro or pro-r with aluminum arms.. the plastic arms flex way too much..

Monsterbrad
11-25-2005, 04:53 PM
I can say from experience be very very careful buying a race truggy off ebay.
There are alot of garbage trucks out there.
I ended up with some piece of **** from a guy that was full of ****.
IN the long run I would have been better off to buy another new pro that was ready to run and use that as a back up.
So just take some time to think it over unless CR can hook you up with someones ride.
Most of the time used stuff just leads to spending more money trying to get it the way you want it.
Thats been my experience

Whenever i blip or squeeze the throttle at full and release the carb or opening it returns to its normal position (idle position), but for some reason whenever I apply the brakes (light squeezes or full), the servo returns to a position that causes the carb to open up slightly or way past idle. Whats causing this is it the servo horn?

take off your servo horn, then make sure your throttle trim is at zero, then put horn back on. probably had your trim up when you put the horn on causing the problem you have.

Monsterbrad
11-27-2005, 01:29 AM
You have to have something set wrong cause the set up for the throttle on these trucks is pretty much bullet proof.
Check the end points and make sure you have the servo centered before you put the servo horn on the servo.

I would have kept the truggy.
Too many guys race 1/8 scale now and they for the most part are way to serious.
I like to have more fun then worry about where I am placing for the most part,
Winning in always nice though !!!!!!

i have.. milli has his lsp decked with it..

IMO the pro-r cnc pieces just as nice, the headz front anti bend rod has bigger foot then hb cnc one, racers edge knuckles work great, increase steering big time vs stock, i have headz rear toeblock now too..

i say combine cf and headz and pro-r pieces for best bang of the buck and weight.. dont forget you need a BCE chassis... thats a hell of a great item for its cost..

Hey guys Im new owner of a pro -R , Rc Experience 4 yrs . I just started getting this thing ready to race , Two questions . The shock pistons front says 3, rear 4 just wondering if that sounds right, reason i ask one piston isnt stamped to good , Just want to make sure . 2** Where can you find a aluminum flat brace that goes from front bulk to center diff same way on rear . I saw it on a LSP at a big race and others ive talked to have also seen something like it. Home Made ? That piston thing has me puzzled i like to go over every thing just to be sure ,These things are built by people and people make mistakes it never hurts to check things. Thanks in advance for any help. OH YEA This is one mean looking truck its got race all over it. Just look at the stance. :) :

i have a CF brace on mine made by vertigo..

honestly, never saw numbers on my shock pistons.. i never knew they made different ones.. from what i know all 4 are the same..

IF you do this you need to tie the center to the rear also..

else it will flex real bad in this area..

i also suggest the BCE Chassis

:D Thanks CRS, I never heard of #4 pistons in 1/8 th scale any way.You confirmed it. The pro -r chassis looks thick, what makes the BCE chassis so much better thicker ,lighter, titanium? Im not worried about weight I like a beefy chassis it the back bone of the truck. What about the turnbuckles some people are using for braces, ive looked all over the net. Revo's dont look like they will work that good, was more interested in the T Maxx braces, I need part Numbers and breif description how to situate them .A picture is worth a thousand words. Hey thanks again ,anyone else feel free to chime in and help, want these braces to be right.

I have Revo rods on my truck and they work very well.
I don't think they work as well as the Vertigo stuff but they keep the chassis from flexing.
In all reality from what I have seen in the last few months of racing all summer and seeing how my buddy Jeff did with his mostly stock LSP pro with a Mach 26 in it the chassis being stiffer is just a personal thing.
It does not make that much difference in the way it handles at least not to the average racer for the most part.
I don't like chassis flex in my rigs so I try to aliminate it.
There is a nice article in one of the Rc Driver or car magazines about a LSP that they built using all the good stuff.
It has great info on what needs to be done.
Cr's ride is pretty much decked out with all the stuff that is needed.
Mine is catching up but has Revo rods instead of the Vertigo stuff.
don't forget to double up on the steering plate.
I broke my steering this last weekend on the side that the servo hooks too.
broke at the spring.

well IMO the truck flies 100% different with the bce chassis, its thicker, weighs less then stock, the material is better then HB's 7075, i do not knwo if its from milled areas or if its just that much stiffer letting it fly better.. all i know is it is not the same jumper it was before the chassis..

the problem with revo rods to the front are where they screw into the bulk.. you will actually bend those screws, break the diff cas and so on.. vertigo mounts to the steering posts which are much more heafty as they are 4mm bolts

come check out www.truggyracers.com look at the pinned index in the stadum section

also a added item to vertigo's front brace.. place to mount transponder!!
