hi guys/gals,

for those who don't know, i am the advisor to my school's RC club. i talked the principal into letting us use the foundation of a removed building to build a small track on. it's been a great learning experience teaching my students/club members about RC and how to build a track. take it from me, those guys who do this for a living are trully geniuses in their own right.

the kids love helping out and have a blast just watching the cars roost. eventually, we'll be putting up some dirt ramps. any suggestions on how to build one? we're trying, but the monsters keep killing them.

btw...i know it's shamless, but it's not for me. if there are any racers out there that has used beat up stuff that they would like to get rid of, but not worth enough to put on ebay, please donate them to us. we need all the support we can get. thanks in advanced and i'll keep you guys posted on what the final track will look like.

take care.

astroturf under the dirt will act as grip for both the dirt and the trucks/buggies. If I were you, id scope out the local scrap yard/garbage dump and look for anything that you could use creatively as terrain

A good tamper (to pack the dirt) usually helps. Some errosion is expected, especially with the monter trucks and buggies, but once a solid base is estbilshed for the jumps, you should be OK.

looks like a good dirt oval base. now just get some donations for some cars, and the club will be taking shape

You should start asking around the local hobby stores, I'm sure you will find someone that has, or knows someone that would be willing to help you with your basic track layout.
