This is try number 3. If anyone out there can tell me how to make this work, I would really appreciate it. I can't seem to get there. Pat Daily

Pat,

I tried to post some the other day and couldn't figure out how either. Did you find the box "filename to create"? Is this something on the upload page or something I should be looking for in my Windows program?

Could someone who has been sucessful at this provide some more detailed instructions, please.

Thanks, Jim

Hi guys,

Having just successfully uploaded a picture of my Pitts, I'll tell you what worked for me.

1st, go here: http://www.rcmicroflight.com/upload.asp

Click the browse button and find the GIF or Jpeg of your plane. Enter a name for the file (this can be the existing file name or a new one.) Finally, click the upload button.

After the image is uploaded, you'll be redirected to a page which will have something like this:

{img**http://www.rcmicroflight.com/upload/yourfilename{/img**

(I replaced the brackets here with these squiggly things so the server wouldn't think I'm trying to post a photo)

This is basically the html code referencing the file you just uploaded. Simply select and copy it. Go back to the "Post Your Micro Flyer Photos" forum, create a new post and paste in that code you copied.

It's a little tricky at first and the first several times I tried it, the upload script wasn't working. After it was fixed, though, everything went quite smoothly.

Let me know if you continue to have problems... we'll get it working yet.

Appreciate the help, Chris, but I can't seem to get past the upload button.

I put my file in the "Get File" box,

C:\My Documents\My Pictures\2001_04_07\Apr07$02.JPG

typed in "Tiny Photos" in the "Save File As:" box and hit the upload button. I then get a "boink box" saying "Only JPG and GIF files please" with a button marked "OK". I am assuming since the filename ends in "JPG", that it is a JPG file, correct? These are photos that I took with my new digital camera and downloaded into the Photoimpression program that came with the camera. I have sent them in e-mails and that worked just fine.

Gotta go for tonight, I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks, Jim

Jim and Chris

I too have the problem with the boink in the upload box saying only jpeg or gif. The file I was trying to upload was a jpeg. Do you have to put a .jpg ending on whatever you choose to name it? Boy, these directions are confusing (and I have a PhD!) for us dummies.

Hey Jim, Pat,

Yes, you do have add a .jpg or .gif to the file name, it's the only way the upload script can determine the file type. If you still have trouble, try making sure the file name has no odd characters like $ % # @ etc. If all else fails, I'd be happy to upload the files for you and then send you the code to paste into your message. My e-mail address is chris@chris3d.com if you want to send me the images.
