Smoke and sound

im building currently the Tug Amsterdam from Artesiana Latina. it is the very old kit, that is close to scratch-building.. not the new kit with pre-fabt hull.
i'm going to put a lot of functions in it and im looking for some ideas on a smoke generator.. preferable selfmade and a diesel sound generator.
does anybody knows of some plans for it.. ? i want it to be connected with the speed control to be realistic...

Ram electronics has several sound card set ups that can be used, but don't know on the smoke generator.
