Just curious...I see a lot of Q's on cars that can go fast. What's the advantage? I would think accelleration is most important.
Who cares if it goes 100mph, you can't control it any way right?
Everyone's opinion please...

Every man on God's Green Earth has the NFS (Need For Speed) in their blood.
We like to make em go fast and crash em.....then start over again! LOL :D

Derek, are you always sarcastic? No offense, but you seem to have an attitude problem in all your posts. :(

It's like breaking the sound barrier was back in the 40's. It (100mph) was a barrier. It has been broken. Look for the next big step to be 125 mph. Then 150..... etc
A lot is involved in going really fast. It is a challenge. It is much more complex than merely high power motors.

Got it. Thanks.

Sarcastic? Yes. I was just pointing out the top speed is very important. Like I said 0-1 in .00006 seconds isn't impressive, but 0-60 in 4.3 is. Relax, we play with toys. Don't take everything so hard. :D :D :) :)

I find nothing wrong with 0-1 mph in .00006 seconds... seems fast to me. but, i think that speed isn't important... ACCELERATION BABY!!! actually... i have a need for speed also. ;) gotta bounce

the reason people want fast cars is well why not ? its the same idea that every man want a ferrai i cant say i have ever met a guy who wouldnt want a ferrai
Stories like this one in the Washinton Post pretty much sum it up. A 1999 CBR 600F4 clocked at 160mph on Lake Shore Drive. Even the Cop was impressed:

OK Derek, I understand, but also when people asked what you make an hour, you replied something like 22 cents. There are poor kids who work in sweat shops making 22 cents a day, which is a reality, I know you didn't compare the two, but I am, and I don't think it is a funny subject that people get payed that little. :(
Back to the topic:
Both can be done!
McLaren F1:
0-100mph 6.2 seconds
Maximum speed (w/o rev restrictor) 240.1mph
AMAZING!

Well, I don't subscribe to that magazine. Also, the McLaren is STOCK, that's a super tuned Viper. But hey, speed is speed. I wonder what would happen with twin turbos on the Big Mac.
I think the paint would come off. :)

Throtl Hapie,
My reply that I make about 22 cents an hour wasn't being sarcastic at all. All the time a spend at work and at home working and working on the weekends adds up to about that, that's how if feels anyway.
Plus, I'm sure you or your father isn't going to discuss their salary on the internet, know what I mean.
I didn't know that joking wasn't allowed here. I joke around ALOT, I'm a happy guy. So from now on read my posts as if I was your buddy joking with ya. :D

Some people are wrapped too tight, DerekB. I, for one, appreciate the sarcasm! How much fun would anything be if you can't joke around? Wow, in the time it took me to type this, I made just over $.22... ;)

OK.
PS
Is it me, or is the site slow today? Everything is taking forever to load, while other pages I normally go to are fine, so it can't be my side.
