Buwaaaaahaaaa! :D

Porsche 924 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44022&item=5934248336&rd=1)

Interestingly enough, today's opening bid could buy two full scale Volkswagens at the time this was made. :D

Then in the other corner . . we have . . . . . .

the thrashmaster (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44029&item=5934187622&rd=1)!

That's definitely their first car. All the info is there to read in the listing.

Yea, that'll make someone with enough money for a real collection quite a find, and quite a show piece. However, the dude selling the RC10gt is on crack. Who in thier right mind would pay $50+ for shipping on that?

It's a 934, not 924. I wonder if it'll sell.

Yup, their very first R/C car. They actually sunk a TON of money into making a 1/12th scale plastic model of that Porsche, even shipping one over to Japan to take accurate photographs and measurements (No surprise: If you've ever seen Tamiya's models, they are AMAZING). For whatever reason, it wasn't selling well, so Tamiya had to recoup some of their investment in the model kit.

Tamiya decided to add a crude aluminum chassis and radio gear to the car, and apparently it sold like hot-cakes after that. Notice the box even says 'suitable for radio control'.

That rc10gt is gross, lol. Where is the tuned pipe?? and what is that thing sticking off the left side of the truck? (dont tell me that's the pipe... For such a hopped up truck that bug body is stupid.

I found the tires lopped on the axles and tipped sideways particularly humorous.

Guys, this is nothing. Check out tamiyaclub.com There's a ton of tamiya freaks there including myself. Some guy just paid over $1,000 for a NIB Tamiya Frog. Which is like Tamiya's 41st R/C model. (I think). Vintage Tamiya stuff has a huge following so the opening bid on this Porsche does not surprise me.

Nope, Vaillant is a brand of central heaters here in Europe, it has got nothing to do with the greatest cartoon pilot ever (I'm a fan...)
