I don't know if anyone has posted on this subject before, but I am really interested in running Li Pos in my T4 with SS 5800, mainly to get more runtime. Does anyone know the cutoff voltage of the SS ESC and if it will work OK with Li Pos? Do the Li Po packs fit well in the battery slot for the T4? Thanks guys!

Been racing with the Thunder Power TP8000-2S4P Li-Po for about year now and another racer has been using one in a XXX-T with the Novak 5800SS almost that long. Just raise the bar up a little higher, foam pad the ends real good and you will not have any problems as long as you charge and handle the Li-Pos according to the manufacturers instructions. I use and highly recommend an Astro Flight 109 charger. Please use a lithium battery charger and do not use the MRC Smart Brain 969 that has mislead people about safely charging Li-Pos. The Schulze and Triton also make good Li-Po chargers.

Thanks for the info, Craps. About your friend who runs the Thunder Power in his XXX-T, how does he make sure that he does not go below the minimum voltage?
Another question that I had is whether it is necessary to monitor the voltage of each cell in the pack periodically... and how to do that. Thanks!

the cutoff voltage of the novak is probably way too low since it will run on a 4 cell pack just fine. I use it in my 1.12th scale on 4 cells and it doesn't cutout even when the batteries are going down.

You can also use a device called a li-saver to let you know when the voltage drops too low.

Starluck, are you sure this product does work in car application ?

I heard it is OK on small little plane with tiny motor that drawn very little Amp.

Does it handle the 50/100 Amp drawn our motor can produce ?
