I am thinking of ordering one myself. Not 100% sure yet.

I ordered one through Jamie recently. He said that it was able to run a 7xl in his Emaxx. I should be getting mine next week some time.

I just got one and am using it in a 1/8th buggy conversion. So far, I am extremely impressed with it. I am using it with a Feigao 8L motor and the temps are just lukewarm after a full battery pack.

rstnboy - how many cells are you running and can you post any pics of the setup?

Right now I am using two six-cell cheap packs (powerizer) but I have some GP3300s coming to build two really good packs. I will hopefully be able to take some pics next week and post them.

Cool -
I am converting my Hyper 7 and still need an ESC and motor for it. I just sent Jamie at Starluck and email. Hopefully get some answers soon. Looking at the 9918 controller. Not decided on the motor.

Jamie is a great guy to deal with. That's where I bought my motor and pinion from. After I placed the order, we had a near real-time discussion via email about what my application would be and what would be the best setup to use. He even pointed out a potential failure area concerning using the stainless pinion and the stock steel Ofna spur gear. He guided me towards a plastic replacement that would serve the purpose and not wear out the pinion prematurely. Both he and Mike at RC-Monster have been great.

The Hyper 7 does not have an option for replacing with plastic gear. I am looking at redesigning and making my own center diff. Something to give the feel of a straight shaft threw center of car with a spur in the middle of it.
Good stuff.

The Ofna MBX R2 is what I have. I centered the diff on the chassis which took some minor fabrication work but it turned out well. I see diffs from this buggy on ebay quite frequently for pretty cheap prices. That might be an option to consider.

That is definitely an option. I also have hardened steel 15 and 16 tooth pinions that will do the job but cost about as much as a diff on ebay.
Glad you are liking the setup rstnboy. I may be running a converted buggy of my own soon.

I did it. I ordered the 9918 from Starluck. Hopefully it won't take long to get here.

It shouldn't take to long to get to you unless you aren't in the US. Jamie shipped it Friday/Saturday, and I got it today (Monday). And we are also 2500miles apart! I am glad I ordered the system from him, just strongly looking forward to running it in my Rustler!

Why could the warrior 9918, handle 18 cells with 99 amp max and the MGM compro 12 cells, with more max amperes (120)?

That is just how they are designed. The parts in the 9918 can handle more voltage than the MGM.
I've been running a 9918 in my Super rs4 electric and have been very happy with it. Very smooth and no cogging at all. I run a 4s lipo pack and a basic xl 2400 and the controller never even gets warm. Got mine from Jamie at Starluck. I even plugged in a 6s lipo pack the other day and the controller was able to handle it. I'm probably on the ragged edge for voltage though by doing that, and I was scared as hell that the controller was going to blow, but it worked fine.

On the BK site I saw that they have a 9920 avliable now, looks to be the same controller as before, but with a slightly higher voltage capacity.

mine that i've been running for some time now in a max on 12 cells has been doing fine, but i went to 14 cells and after a few minutes it will just shut down, then when i unplug and re-plug it works again for a few minutes, is it just over amping perhaps?

I am running a 9918 with no problems. I have used a 7XL in an all aluminum Savage, and another 9918/7xl combo in the Prototype Cold Fusion Buggy. Both seem to work very well. I havent had a shutdown or real problem yet. It isnt a smooth as I would like it to be, but a lot of BL's are like that. I do think its smoother than my old Hacker Master Car Sport though.
