This is the current plane on the building board.

Tonight's progress shot. Blue tissue came with the kit. Heavy and hard to work with. Should have used Japanese tissue instead.

Thought I'd throw in a shot of the Frog Raven I started awhile back but have on hold. Hope to finish this one in a few weeks.

Here's a photo of the Prairie Bird finished. The best flight to date was 35 seconds. I'm still in the trimming process so I expect flight times to go up some. Just waiting for a nice calm day.

Hello Bark,
A nice looking job. Real *** tissue is expensive enough that it is hard to find in kits. When you get the rubber motor dialed in, that baby should give you some nice chase opportunities.

Longest flight to date is 39 seconds. That flight got interupted when it collided with a wooden fence. The weather is getting nicer here so I should get more time to fly and experiment with different sizes/lenghts of rubber. I've been using a 14 inch long strip of 1/8 inch rubber wound to about 1000 turns.

The blue Prairie Bird flew away today. It was a tiny speck in the sky the last glimpse I caught of it. I had some nice flights on this plane.

Hello Bark,
I am sorry to hear of the loss. This is the bittersweet reward for beginning to build and trim free flight models that fly really well. A name and address card or sticker on the bottom of the model can produce some surprising results at times. They are not heavy, and it is cheap insurance. Good luck with the next one.
