Hello all:
A friend of mine has a Parkzone J-3 Cub and is having problems. I have agreed to try to help.
When the throttle if pushed full forward rapidly, it runs but then suddenly shuts down. If you take it slow, it will go to full throttle and run with no problem.
It seems to run OK until you get to the mid-throttle "notch", immediately after passing that point, throttle shutdown occurs. When you bring it back to the starting position, it does the same thing again.
Any ideas? He is using the stock Parkzone 3-channel Digital Proportinal FM Controller.
I have tried everything that I can think of with no success.
Thanks for any assistance.

You may have a bad connection somewhere, check all power leads, especially those between motor and speed control. Battery leads (connections) could also be high impedance, check them.

The problem may be on the transmitter in the slide throttle. This is the same radio used for the Aerobird. There have been reports of dead spots on a few. Try moving the throttle slide around slightly when it shuts down and see if you can get it to restart. Pull it back slightly.

You may have a defective radio. It happens.

These are fun planes at a great price, but the components are fairly cheap and quality control could be better. But Horizon Hobby, Parkzone and Hobbyzone all have great support reputations.
