Best new drivetrain: horizontal 3 gear tranny at 2.5:1 with midmotor. Now, the rear diff will have 2 gears: one standard for the gears and one bevel for the shaft to front diff!!!! This will solve torque steer and have maximum efficiency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who is going to make this tranny????? Now, we can have maximum efficiency w/o the torque steer and no more worries about stupid belts anymore.

Beveled gears will cut into efficiency, but I have thought of that as well. I am still quite happy with belt drive. In my xxx-s you can run the newer black belt quite loose without skipping any teeth. Loser then the original blue/yellow belts even with brushless horsepower. I'm looking forward to the new Losi sedan...

New Losi sedan looks cool - but the battery pack has gotta be a pain in the butt to put in with all that stuff around it. The Pro 4 is the easiest car to load up all the electronics due to the flat chassis and upper deck. The TC4 was nice for me because it really protects my lipos in a nice "box".
I think there is a loading hatch on the bottom of the new Losi touring car for the battery. I thought the same thing when I first saw the car.
