Hey everyone. Thinking about getting a brushless setup for my emaxx in the near future. Probably gonna get a nemisis 9l or 10l. But what is the difference between those motors and the 9XL or 10XL.

I talked to the guy at starluck RC concerning what I was interested in getting and telling him I'm probably gonna be running 2 7 cell packs. He said the 9l is the fastest motor with 7 cells but if my truck is on the heavy side, I should maybe get the 10l. He also said if I plan to ever run 8 cell packs, I should get the 10l because with 8 cells it can match the speed of the 9l but do so more efficienty (electronically).

Seems to make sense to me but wanted to see if any of you agreed. I'm basically looking for upgrade in speed (of course) but would be willing to sacrifice some speed for a solid set up where I wouldn't have to worry about things getting too hot and so on. By the way, I'm planning on using a warrior 9918.

Thanks

His advice is right on. Based on your quote here... I would say get the 10L. It will blow away a stock emaxx on 14-16 cells, and even on 12 cells IMO. It will run cooler and more efficient than the 9L of course. Sounds like that's what you want,

The 9XL 10XL are not comparable at all. They are bigger motors with tons of torque and much lower rpm. You need to run more cells to wake them up. You would want something like a 7XL and 16 cells etc....

An "L" is just fine for any car application.
