Here is a pic of my Simprop Albatros from Hobby Lobby. It has ailerons, rudder, elevator and motor control. All decals are made with ink jet printer. Note the Bavarian diamonds.

Beautiful - and WWI too! My favorite!

How's she fly? Is this the one you modified with epoxy coating?

I need to get back to working on my DH-2 and we can dogfight it out! No fair though - mine is GWS-A powered - no match for your 280! Pretty historic matchup actually.

Really nice model, could you tell me more about the decals? I have a Tiger Moth from GWS, the decals are horrible, so I didn't use them. Would love to use the inkjet kind since I have an inkjet printer. Is there somewhere where I can find the roundels and other British type insigna? What's your source for the paper? Is anything else needed? Please elaborate!

Thanks in advance!

I also would like a lesson from you on making and using inkjet decorations. I have two that need to have some dressing on them. Very nice crate (WWI lingo). How is the CAD progressing?

The decals were made from vitachrome or vitacal sheets--do a search for their website or order from www.walthers.com (http://www.walthers.com)

The sheets come in clear and white and are for use in an ink jet printer. I do my graphics on a program called Freehand, but I think any graphics program, maybe even your paintshop programs would work. The decal paper is about $5 a sheet (8x11 inches)--so it is not cheap, but it works well. I also use a bit of microscale's decal setting solution to help them conform to the surfaces better. After you print the decal, you spray with a varnish that vitachrome makes and this waterproofs the decal. You can cut the gloss by using some acrylic matte finish after the decal drys.

Haven't download a CAD program yet--been to busy with college search trips with my daughter. Did start on my Tiger Moth foamie. Think I will make some floats for it.
