Anybody in the Fayetteville area know anywhere to race? Theres a hobby shop around here called Hayes Hobby, and theres usually people in there. Anyone set up races or just bashing around here?

closest functional off-road track would probably be 60-70 miles north of here in the Raliegh/Durham area. It could be possible that there is a track near Pinehurst/Aberdeen, since theres a bit of aircraft guys there.

Jonboy there is a great Offroad track in Goldsboro right on HWY 70 just east of Goldsboro NC. That should not be that far from where you are at. They run 1/8th and 1/10th gas. The name is Inside Line Performance and they have a web site just ad the www. and the .com and you are there. Good Luck. Kevin Mac.

Insidelineperformance.com is racing this weekend 12-18-04 you guys should check it out, 1/8 scale, 1/10 scale and MT's they have a websight do a search. Its a great track I race there almost every other weekend if i can make it.
Wasn't there a hobby shop in the Westwood strip mall? Used to live in Fayetteville and went to Westover back in the 90's.
Also, isn't there an offroad track not too far from Fayetteville?

racing will not start until the end of April... but the track is open on Sundays for practice... I usually get there around 10am and stay until 3pm. The track is a very nice dirt track with a 120 foot straight away on the back side. The rest of the track is jumps, bumps and turns... very nice. It is located on HWY 1 about 5 miles south of Vass NC. If you are coming down give me a call on my cell 910-988-5108 and I can help you with directions while you are driving down. Like I said it is usually only me and mayber one other guy there on Sundays, until the race season in about a month. Sometimes the power is on and sometimes the power is off so you might want to make sure everything is charged up prior to getting there. Last week the outlets were working but this week they had been turned off. later. Todd. :)

I'm aware that in the past this track ran mostly 1/8 and gas truck, Is there any hope for some 1/10 electrics this year???

I think that 1/10 electric will be the most popular trucks this year. Everytime I go to the track I see mainly people running 1/10 electric and a couple 1/10 gas. So far this year I have only seen a couple 1/8 buggies (nitro). So, I am pretty sure that 1/10 electric will be run this year (and very popular). The off road track is getting a website and it should be up soon. When I get the address I will post it here. Later. :D

I noticed that you said "most popular trucks". Has anyone been milling around with electric buggies (2WD OR 4WD)? I wouldn't be able to commit to a race soon, but may drop in sometime, but I don't do truck.

losixxxman....sry to report, but electric 2wd & 4wd is pretty much dead around here. it's all about nitro. first there's 1/8th scale buggies, then nitro trucks and lastly electric stock trucks. i've been goin to about 4 tracks in the upper peidmont to charlotte area and no dice. but if you can rally up some racers then the tracks will allow for them. but most racers don't bring em to the track cause they "didn't think it was worth packing it". :(

electric's seem more popular in Vass than nitro does. i run 8th scale buggy in charlotte, and the guys at Vass said there's hardly ever any there. now in charlotte, nitro's definitely the biggest thing.

There are alot of tracks to race at in North Carolina and South Carolina. Sandhills raceway runs everyother Saturday. The next race is this weekend May 14th. Track opens at 0800 and racing starts at 1200. They have a good electric class and the gas classes will pick up as more people start racing there.
For all the info on all the Carolina tracks go to www.carolinasrc.com and you can find a bunch of tracks to race at. Most of them are at least an hour away. My favorite track is the Badlands in Myrtle Beach. Also if you go to www.teamtrinity.com and go into techtalk there are alot of forums for the carolina tracks that are used daily by the racers. Hope this helps you all looking for a track to race at.
