View Full Version : Sweet exhaust setup... *Pics*
Ok guys, I had an idea to keep gunk off the chassis... Tell me what you think...
My personal guess is that it will keep gunk off the chassis, But it might screw with my engine's tuning. The tubing itself is a fairly big diameter to minimize the affect but I don't know. Here it is...

Please give me your honest opinions on how you think this will affect performance. Thanks a lot.
Note : All those zipties are to prevent kinking of the tubing in the bends.

Is that tubing from a fish tank? Will it be able to take the heat from the exaust stinger?
As far as performance, the tube dose seem pretty big, but it probily will effect your performance, espeacialy if you get gunk build-up in the tube, why don't you just buy and exaust deflector or shorten the tube and aim it at the ground. Also you might end up getting oil & stuff on the tire. Interesting idea though, if you run it like that let us know how it goes.

I saw a similar setup on a 4tec and it worked pretty well. You may lose a lil power, but I doubt enough to notice.
nice exhaust, now get out and run it!
Wow guys, thanks for the encouraging comments. I have yet to even break in the truck and it's winter here so I dont think i will be able to run it for another couple months. The truck comes stock with an exhaust deflector, but It seemed as though the exhaust would still come back on the truck. This setup looks very clean, It is very unobtrusive to the suspension and it sends the exhaust straight out the back. The tubing is PVC used for plumbing, Im just about positive it will be able to take the heat. Thanks again for the comments guys, I'll fiddle around with it and see what I come up with. Thanks, ScMc

Why not just use a exhast defector there about $3 and have all kinds of bends to fit any truck/car.They will also give much more performance than that long tube. Not to knock your design or anything, but anything atached after the stinger will reduce flow the longer the more dramatic the power loss.
alright guys, I just got back from the Hardware store (10% off cuz i work there, this is one of my days off) And i'v got a new plan!! Stay tuned for pics... WIll probably post pics in an hour or two... Cya Later!

Well its cool to mess around, but I think you'll see that your truck will come back FILTHY no matter what you do to it. I know my buggy does, I really wonder why I even clean it, other than a good cleaning doubles as a good inspection.
I live in Maine...
GUYS! Check out my new post in this forum... Its an update to this thread. Thanks for looking, ScMc
