Hi all

I dug out the old box of RC car stuff from years ago and had some fun going through the bits and pieces.......

I have a:
Mini mustang with a 2 speed box
Tamiya Salute
Tamiya Supershot
Mardave Mini
Bolink rail

I raced the Mustang back in 86 - 89 did o.k, anyone remember these cars ??
They were the thing to have back then apart from a schumaker cat or original RC10

Thanks
Brent

PB and Mardave are British companies, so I doubt many people over here know of them. PB had a one or two releases with the Sizler pan-car.

They were imported by Parma.
I had 2 of them. One just to get spare parts.
The pb stood for parts breaker.
A lot of the designs on the car were good but it
really had many poor quality issues.
Plastic material was totally wrong.
I still have a few spare parts around somewhere.

I still own one. The only thing it doesn't have are the original wheels and original shocks, no body also. I even have some aftermarket dogbones made of aluminum with delrin balls where the pins go through. Never raced it though. I thought the four wheel steer setup was kind of cool, would be neat to see that type of system used in some modern RC's. Whatever did happen to the company anyways, I heard they went out of business. Never got any confirmation on that though.

PB Mini mustangs were sweet, belt drive I think. My neighbour used to race one. They were'nt the quickest things around but the handling was great, and it went smoothly around the track. He was a newbie yet constantly finished in the top 5. Everyone was using shumuchers and kyoshos at the time.

Your PB's are very hard to find now and looked at as very valuable collectors items. They are much harder to get than Tamiya and kyosho, losi, asso and traxxas. Sell them high or hol on to them firmly

He must be your best mate now then! I was reading on the net about those, is the ace the latest one with the 8 cell slots? Very advanced cars for their time.
