I have a Wasp 28 and it's awesome. but I would recommend the SH. I've only had the Wasp for 8 tanks now, and I can say it's a screamer, but I bought it when I didn't know the SH was better. The Wasp is turning a 15t clutch bell on my Savage, the stok one, and puling nice wheelies. I've seen videos of the SH, and the SH can wheelie just as good with the 18t clutch bell. I think the SH has it's horsepower lower down inthe RPM range, so it's a torque monster.

Go for the SH28 most people I've seen report this engine to be trouble free where as I've read alot of people having tuning issues with the wasp28. I have the wasp28 but haven't run it yet. After taking it apart I regret not getting the SH. The wasp28 has a real small block for a 28 engine I didn't think much of it at the beginning but then I saw the intake runners are real small vs the dispacement. I don't think it will be able reach it's full potential, choked.

I think no question the sh.28 is the better engine(mines on the way from hong kong).Im gonna be eventually putting this in my revo. The thing that sold me on this engine was the crank work(and i only paid $127us shipped).
Has anyone else seen the new collari .30 they have a pic of it a the werks racing website. Its on pre order now for $209 it looks to be a killer. http://werksracing.com/product.do?sku=WRXLC30MT

Yeah, my Wasp is hard to tune. But trust me, it has power. Less than the SH, but trust me, it's satisfying. Keep the stock gearing on at first and see how you like it before moving up.

Heh. If anyone picks up one of those Collari's, let me know what it's like would you? Surpisingly enough, that's in the price range of a new engine I'd like to get.

I just started breakin in my SH and it is very nice. I'm geared 18/49 and getting nice wheelies on only 6 tanks. You can get it for $120 now thru that Hong Kong site but I don't have the address with me right now (I got it for $115)
The rotostart slips right on AFTER you buy the XTM 24.7 backplate from www.hobbypeople.net and replace the stock backplate.
What do you plan to mount your engine in?

You have to watch out with this engine they need short plugs, and werks was recomending long plugs at very first,It caused quite a few destroyed pistons but werks is taking care of their customers
Keith could you follow that link I pm'd you? when I click on it a cannot see anything Im wondering if just has to do with the langauge settings on my PC.

If you go to the wasp web site you'll see that many many many people are complaining about their wasp 28 engines. The biggest problem being; that the pullstarter is way too weak for the compression on this engine. It usually breaks when you get to your 6-8th tank of fuel. It is a very common problem. In their web site wasp is offering free pullstarters for those who have this issue!

I have the SH .28 and it runs like a champ. It was easy to tune and has more power than the Mach .26. I'm very happy with my SH... I got it for $137 shipped from here... (http://shopping.rcmodel.hk/product_info.php?cPath=6_29&products_id=5132&language=EN)

i just ordered my SH28 last night. $132 shipped. What plugs do you guys run in them? I have some OS8. To long of a plug for the SH28?

cold long plugs MC-8,mc-9 work good, as do odonnell 1/8 race plugs. The plus out of an HPI S-25 also work suprisingly well,Its actually the plug from my first savage I got a year ago and it still works.Im sure this is a freak occurance but 4+ gallons in 3 diffrent engine should kill a plug.

Hey Darkness, you seem to be very informative on alot of things and it is very much appreciated. I have been thinking about this SH 28 for a while now. I have a Monster GT that I would like to put it in. I'm sure it will go in fine won't itand is the pull startpretty good that comes with this engine? Would the roto start from the TT .21 on the GT go on this engine also. One more question about the plugs previously mentioned, what comes on the SH engine? I have some O.S. 8 and O.S. A5 plugs, will these work alright. I have plenty of O'Donnell 20% fuel I am going to use. Thanks for the help.

I am trying to get my list of stuff togeather so I can goto my LHS this weekend and pick stuff up. I have OS8 plugs left from my last engine also. Not sure if i can use them or not. They might be to hot?? I was also told by thedarkness to get a duel chamber exhaust pipe since this motor has a lot of low end torque so it doesnt need a bottom end pipe. But what kind? I know someone using the Jammin Jp-1 and likes it a lot. But that is a low end pipe right? Can you guys point me in the right direction for a good exhaust pipe?

Just to check I put my hottest plug in the sh.28,and I didnt get any detonation so you should be good with OS 8s and A5s.
Heres a little info on tuned pipes its for a revo but the principles of tuned pipes are all the same.
http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?threadid=261817(ignore witch plug it says to use in this, they are recomending for a smallblock, also the pipe diagram is of a single chamber {Hollow** not dual as he states)
Basicly you want a dual chamber pipe to start with JP1,Jp2,RB086-0888(or something) and the ofna 08x series are all dual chamber,The Jp1 or Jp2 would be my first 2 choices.
Luvnitro, the thundertiger .21 that comes in the mgt the engine mount holes are closer togethre than on most bigblocks, Im not sure on how the MGT mount is setup but it way require re drilling.I would ask around the MGT threads if anyone has put a mach.26 in there MGT and what it took to do it.The mach has the same mounting dimensions and has the same large pullstart, so if it didnt fit without mod chances are a sh.28 wont fit without mods.
Joostin421, you are correct.

Bill at Speed Zone said the SH is the way to go.
He likes this engine and its way cheaper than some of the high horse engines that are out there.

Has anyone put an SH.28 in your MGT yet and if so, was it much trouble to do? What other engines will go in the GT and did they drop right in on factory mounts? I am also curious if anyone has put an O.S. .18 TZ in their MGT yet. Lets hear from some people. Thanks.
