This truck looks like it's going to be the greatest value in its class at only $399. I know it's Duratrax but Duratrax has come a long way; their Evader family of vehicles and the new Mini Quake (which I own) prove that. Check out the nice website to look at its slew of features including a 2.5 bhp Super Tigre big block engine, included 2-speed reversing tranny, and adjustable suspension set ups.

There's definitely some talk out there, but the initial excitement has probably died off because it's still not available. Once these trucks get into the hands of customers, then the talk will surely increase substantially.
I'm pretty excited about it, I saw one at the iHobby Expo in October and was very impressed!

Does it only have one TVP or did they just take the other off for the picture?
Its hard to say anything about it till its out.But its going to be my next truck to buy.

It's got TVPs on both side, one was removed for that picture. And the side plates are quite thick! Not only that, but it's got a lower chassis plate, too. It ought to be very, very rigid.

Its looks very sweet. a few things should be changed. If they did these, i would buy iy in an instant... First off, get rid of the tvps, and make a chassis, liek a truggy, with a backbone on the top of the diffs and center tranny to tie the truck together. Secondly, lookign at the first pic, It reminds me of my project truggy. Those angles on the center shafts will not work the best. They are angled too much, and liek my truck, once you get one the power alot, the cups will wear out. Also, they will get hot after every run. Mine on my truck got so hot, taht water woudl sizzle off!

Nobody will know until they come out and people get their hands them for some real-world testing!

You could put spacers or something under the tranny to make the driveshafts level, but you would have a higher cg. The tvp's are 1/8" 7075, impressive, maybe you should switch them to carbon fiber instead of just taking them off.

Yeah the tvp thickness is very nice. My only concern is maintainance. I race, and when something goers wrong, it has to be fixed fast. I'm thinking of takign the tranny from one of these, and makign a project truck!
