Hi,

I want to buy a new radio, I won't fly planes with more then 4-channels for the near future, but still I want something more advanced that will last for a long time and for future upgrades. these are the options:

-Futaba 7CAP, with reciever, and 4/S3151 digital servos for 240$.
-Airtronics VG6000, with reciever, 4/94102Z Servos for 170$, and with 4/94322Z Servos for 195$.
-Airtronics RD6000, with reciever, 4/94322Z or 102Z servos for 250$.
-Airtronics RD8000, with reciever, 4/94322Z Servos for 290$.
-Hitec Optic 6, with reciever, 4/HS-325HB Servos for 210$.

Basically I won't spend more then 300$ on a new radio system.
Please help me choose between those, I Never had a Hitec radio also, only airtronics and futaba.
I guess they all have basically the same options? except some of them that can work with a PCM reciever, so i'll go maybe with the best bundle?

Thanks.

It will be hard to beat the value you get with the Optic 6, especially if you get it with the Spectra module.

What kind of planes are you flying? Parkflyers? .40 and up glow? Sailplanes? Discus launched gliders? Slope gliders? Something else?

Are the receivers and servos the right size for the kinds of planes you fly?

For example, if you fly parkflyers, most radios come with receivers and servos that are too large for those planes. You would be better off buying the radio alone and get the proper flight pack. Otherwise you have servos and receiver that you paid for but can't use.

If you are flying .40 glow or larger, then you are probably OK.

Sailplanes could be ok or NG depending.

DLGs - NG - stuff will probably be too large

Do you have any current receivers? What shift are they?

Do you need the ability to change channels?

How many planes do you have now and how many do you think you will have in the next two years?

These are all important in advising you on your selection.

I have 1 trainer now, and buying a Piper Cub (.25 size) very soon.

will you take 220 for the Futaba 7cap? If so how much for shipping and handling to New York Zip 09459. How old is the system and is it the 7cap/chp
