The subject title says it all...LOL! I have a T-Maxx, all rebuilt with it with all aluminum, and I had a OS .21 in it, until I burned that sucker up! Anyway, I just got this new XTM motor and wanted to know if anyone has installed this same motor in a T-Maxx? I have all my parts ready, motor, feral that came with the motor, a aluminum flywheel made for a regular t-maxx, clutch and clutch bell. I noticed that this will not all fit, as the shaft looks too long. This motor also has a screw in the tip of the shaft, where the stock t-maxx uses the retaining clip. On my OS .21, I had to add a couple of washers on the shaft, before the feral, because that shaft was too long. What needs to make this new XTM Pro job work with my t-maxx? I hope I don't have to cut that sucker! I see a 1/8th inch gap, between the clutch bell and screw at the end. Also, the screw won't hold the clutch bell in anyway???
Help!

Others are suggesting that I upgrade to a 1/8" clutchbell and spur gear, which I plan to do. But first, I'd like to break in the motor using the stock stuff, if I can figure out how to make it all work.

Thanks,
Steve

I use to have a 24.7 Maxx. It puts out CRAZY torque. The stock slipper will work fine for awhile until it starts getting more power (just tighten the slipper down).

I had to cut my shaft with a dremel and I just left enough room so I could add a washer and them put the stock screw back in the threads.
I would start out geared 22/70.

is it impossible to put regular 1/8 clutch on it?? I think this would be easiest.

I had one of these and I cut a groove in the SG shaft like many other engines have so that I could use a C clip and then I was able to get the gears to line up. It was a pain to set up. I also blew apart all of the plastic in the trans so if you do not have metal gears get them soon. I only got through 2 tanks after break in.

After all this the diffs went so I sold the truck and got one that could handle the power, MGT.

Well, I decided to go with a 1/8th scale setup. I have the XTM sliper clutch and flywheel kit, the HPI 16T cb, and I have also changed the spur gear to a 1/8th scale 54T. I went with the 24.7 Pro motor. My crankshaft has the screw at the end of it. Using the 1/8th scale stuff, I only needed to add a few washers, no cutting the cs! The stock 1/10th stuff would not fit, without cutting the cs. I'm mounting the motor now. We'll see how it works out :)
