im trying to find out what kind of paint to use on a gas boat

Well let me take a stab at this. I'm guessing the guys will want to know what the hull is made of? Is is fiberglass or wood?

Most automotive paint should work on a Gas boat but not one Nitro powered.
Gel coat is basically a colored epoxy.

You can really use any paint with an airbrush, you just may have to thin it out a bit.

I used duplicolor for my base and automotive paint for the checkers. I sprayed them through an airbrush. I ever ran clear coat through mine.

You can use just about any paint you want. As long as you put a few coats of fuel resistant clear coat on. I use either gel or acrylic enamel. I use either Createx or Golden brands.(for airbrush)

Gel is a polyester based blend paint.
