What motor/esc combo would you suggest for a kyosho twin force in particular? I have experience in nitro but virtually none in electrics or brushless. I also don't want to spend a ton of money, like hacker money, but if I have to, I guess I could manage.

TIA!

I don't recall how the Twin is geared compared to a Maxx... but they often use the same brushed motors. So the same "emaxx" tested motors should be good, such as...

Feigao 8L-10L
Basic 2800-3100XL

More expensive... Hacker 8L-10L, Plett Maxximum, Lehner 1930 series.... etc....

Staluckrc's Warrior9918/BasicXL combo for $290 seems like a bargain for a monster truck.

I would not recommend the warrior9918, unless you use a separate batterypack (4 cells) for the receiver and controller. Otherwise the famous cogging problem during driving off will appear.
I also drive with a Lehner controller, the micro1895 (maximum 18 cells and, yes, 95 Amps). And even in a light weight 2 wheel drive truck I need a separate battery pack for the receiver and controller.

this may work for the cogging problem

So long as the system is "tried and true," and the twin force can handle the power without drivetrain upgrades, I'll buy it.

Been running the 9918 and 10L in mine with no problems. The "cogging" problem is a 6 cell problem. No issues running 12-14 cells in the Twin Force.

I bought my Warrior 9918 from starluck - seemed to have better price than everyone else.

RC-Monster is a good place too. I am going to be ordering a couple more motors from them after new years.

Electricthunder: I know lehner is a pretty trusted name in brushless, but how about Feigao?

Also, what size shaft would a would a twin force take?
