This would help mamba owners!
I received and tryed yesterday the Kokam 3s cell (11.1v), 700 mAh and it work better than I thought! (SINCE THEIR CAPACITY DOESN'T MET THE REQUIRED CURRENT CAPACITY. YO WILL NEED a pack with 1500mAh or more)
The cogging or "Turbo Lag" effect are completely GONE and now have lots of low end (torque) and top end speed. Now my Xray M18 mamba/8000 kv does scream the tires from a dead start!!!!
At this point, I figure it out that the 700 mAh lipo battery works better than a GP1100, but I understand that I'm runing weight under required current capacity here, so I would like to try a Kokam 3s 11.1v 2000 mAh very soon.
But for you guys that are experimenting the cogging or "Turbo Lag" effect, it's absolutely a battery related problem, as Castle Creations people ever said. My system is a 2nd generation Mamba ESC, with the additional 470uF 35v powercap installed in the Battery connector at the ESC (bought in Radioshack $1.59). Now it accelerates like a rocket!
I bet I could now beat Nitros 1/10 in their Drag Track! ja,ja,ja,ja,ja!
I'll post my experience when I get my hands on a 2000 mAh Lipo Pack and the Mamba PHX-Link (that it's supposed to greatly improve acceleration/braking and correct the cogging effect through updated software).
In the mean time , I'll continue to feed my "NITRO EATER"!!!!
