I did read it, but I don't think he has much experience with boat engines. Claims boat engines only need 12% lubricant and they will run better than with 18%. He also claims that a marine engine needs the conrod replaced after a dozen runs, and having 18% lubricant makes the engine work too hard. He even went so far as to tell me that a 1/8th nitro truck engine gets the same stress as a boat engine and the owners manuals are just rewritten airplane owners manuals. I don't know where he gets his info, but I wouldn't trust it. There is no reason to have to replace a conrod every dozen runs, except through misuse or lack of lubrication, in my opinion. The guys in my club will run an engine all season without having to replace a conrod, so he obviously is missing the boat somewhere.

Another thing..................................

He may just be drinking the fuel to get his results. LOL...............

HJ> Missing the boat :D :D :D

I read it too, I found myself thinking I have been running the wrong fuel for 20 yrs in all my models. BUT, yet I still have then engines & run them today. So I think he may be more confused than he made me reading all that mumbo jumbo. :p

Well, a marine engine might need the conrod replaced every dozen runs if you follow his advice ;)
I laughed when he said you could run fuel with 8% oil in a boat and it would run well.

Oh just run White Lightning, it has no oil in it at all. ;) I think I'll stick with Maxy's.
