Hello Everyone,
As Christmas approaches, I think of that Christmas almost eight years ago that I got my first RC car. It’s funny to think I was eight at the time and now I’m sixteen, I’ve been building and driving RC cars for half of my life. That Christmas I remember begging my parents for a RC car. I wanted a Kyosho Outrage more than anything that Christmas. I wanted to be like my brother Rich (RichieRich). I remember opening that Outrage that morning and being so happy. Along with the Outrage came the Futaba 2PB radio in the ugly green/white box, the Hobbico 900 charger, then lastly the bearings. It took me a week to build that car. I built the shocks wrong by holding the shaft with pliers then twisting the eyelet onto the shaft, scratching the shafts. When my brother came home, he took a pair of Gold Shocks and transplanted them onto my Outrage. That car was a blast to drive. I remember I had a mechanical speed control and when the batteries got low it would lock itself in one speed. About two weeks after I got the Outrage I let my friend drive it and when it’s batteries got low he drove it straight into a drain. I was heartbroken and I called my brother crying. “Byron drove my car into the drain and some how it drove itself into the middle of the street!” I told him. My brother drove to where I was at and he crawled into the middle of the street to get it for me. That along with, my brother and I jumping our cars off the driveway, me melting rubber ducky with the soldering iron, breaking in my brothers RS4, and me hitting the Oak tree with my B3 make up the memories that I have acquired with RC cars. I hope that all of you have made great memories with RC cars. It’s a great hobby to have. Share your memories.
